“Quiet Time”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

Me and my friends went to T House Tagaytay for the usual RnR since we know Tagaytay is one of the best place to go if you want to cool down a bit from the hot weather of Manila.

We stayed in the Serenity room
•good for 4 pax
•with free breakfast for 4 pax
•quiet surroundings
•jacuzzi
•pool
•reasonable price for food in their restaurant
•friendly and accomodating staff

Those are just some observation that I had.

Rooms are spacious enough to fit max of 6 pax.

All together, it was worth the stay and we really did enjoy our weekend there.

T house knows the importance of customer service. From the guard, to check in receptionist, to waiters, all are willing to please. Breakfast is also good and filling.

You may lower your expectation on the pool which is dirty. Full of leaves and bugs! Room is also uncomfortable with a noisy aircon and cable TV that is hazy and shuts down at midnight.

We stayed here over the weekend and our stay was indeed relaxing and enjoyable. I had a problem with my booking through Hotel Concepts who booked us on the wrong dates but THouse Tagaytay still accomodated us.

The room we got has no windows but it was clean and I liked the interior and the lighting. The comfy bed and pillows and the room service made up for what the room lacks. The aircon, however, is too noisy and luckily, it was cold when we went there and we didn't need the aircon. The Hot & Cold shower nuzzle is a little difficult to control but their free toiletries are really good (toothbrush is of good quality, soap and shampoo absolutely smells divine and calming).

One thing I also liked is their pocket gardens with daybeds/sofas. The ambience is good and my bf and I enjoyed drinking our wine in the garden. Unfortunately, they put off the lights early and didn't even bother checking if there are still guests in the garden.

We also availed of their foot spa. I was a bit disappointed with the area where we had the foot spa. It just looked like a reception area. Good thing that the foot spa was good and the "chocolate" lotion relaxed me. However, I wished that they asked us first if we wanted to have our foot spa at their outdoor spa. Next time perhaps.

I also loved their Beef Tapa and breakfast breads and their garlic rice. The crispy tawilis was ordinary though.

All in all, the good things I enjoyed in T House outweighed the bad so I'm giving it a good rating and I will still recommend this to my friends.

We stayed here last March 3rd, overnight, using our Deal Grocer Voucher. Reservation was made in less than a week but our room has been upgraded to Serenity Suite Room. Their staff have been prompt in responding to email inquiries regarding our reservation and additional request. Queries were answered even in the middle of the night. We went their by commute, bus ride to Olivarez, then trike ride to T House. It's just along the main road so traveling by commute is not a hassle. Contrary to what I've read on some reviews, our room was clean and we didn't smell anything stingy. We found the room relaxing and nice though it's not that spacious. Extra pillows and blankets were provided right away upon arrival. The a/c is in good condition and we were able to sleep well. The staff will greet you with a smile every time you pass by them. We've enjoyed roaming around the place, swimming on the pool and the jacuzzi is great! We love their food, particularly Choco Lava. T House had made our very short vacation better. The only cons would be: (1) Interior design of the bathroom is very nice, it is spacious as well but the shower curtains were too long. It will also be best if they will put glass within the shower area to avoid flooding inside. Faucets and showers should be adjusted. (2) Room size should be extended for a more comfort stay. I find it a bit pricey but considering the service provided by their staff, I would surely recommend this to everyone.

The place was nice, the room was clean, the toilet is spacious with bath tub and the location is near to picnic grove. They have a very good service and the guard even approached us in the parking area to carry our luggage to the reception area. The service was fast, the food was delicious. I am really satisfied staying here and will surely consider staying here again.

Bought Deal Grocer Vouchers for this place. After reading the MORE RECENT reviews, it was too late to back out. But I rang a week ahead to make sure that the issues raised by other guests were addressed. Francis (front dest) reassured us by saying "not to worry, it has been resolved".

Upside:
1) Location was easy to find, right along the maid road
2) Big area, lots of trees and seating areas (pocket garden)
3) Designated areas for smoking
4) Staff are friendly, specially the man looking after the garden
5) Tapa Dish - delicious
6) Orange Juice- fresh!
7) Parking Area- safe, big space
8) Meet & Greet - warmly done by the Guard. Helped us with luggage.

Downside:
1) Rooms given to us (101 & 102) had no windows. This was not disclosed to us upon check in or even upon reservation
2) Very strong chemical "cherry scent" was used to freshen up the room. It was honestly, TOXIC.
3) Shower curtains were too long and it was absorbing all the water & soap suds
4) Room 101- had a trash can lid that would not shut properly
5) Room 102- had a missing soap dish .... but eventually, they gave us one.
6) Guest's corn beef breakfast had a piece of plastic wrapper in it - reported it to the waiter
7) Guest's American breakfast has eggs swimming in maple syrup from the french toast bread
8) Complimentary Tea served in the evening had foul/mouldy - smelling tea cups. This was the case for both rooms.
9) Queen beds- only comes with 2 pillows for the 2 rooms we reserved. We asked for 4 extras. They did arrive thankfully, but smelled musty and merely covered with pillow protectors. Thanks to Ms. Ghie, she had the housekeeper put some decent pillow covers that masked the stink.
10) Towels - all looked greyish white & tired (foot rugs, even worse as they had frayed edges)
11) Window Type Aircons- Works well but vibrates loudly when set on thermostat #6
12) Shower heads- Needs a good clean
13) Zero activities for the kids - except if you want to swim in the freezing pool; no pool bar.

Room Tip: Don't book Room 101 and 102

Room looks better (and bigger) in photos, felt a bit claustrophobic (no windows and a bit cramped)
Nice dining area, breakfast was just okay
Wifi only available outside the room
Nothing compelling to make me go back
