We reserved a room the previous week excited for the prospects of a wonderful weekend. First off, the soiled, dirty, wet towels were still hanging in the bathroom when we checked in. Mind you we checked in at 9PM and not the usual 2PM. Before going up however i asked them, what is your kitchens specialty? What time do they close? 10:30. Fine being 9PM there still was enough time. Bulalo which is a local favorite of boiled beef with vegetables; and crispy pata, pork foreleg fried to crispiness. So i asked that this be sent to the room. The beef turned out to be the worst bulalo for a city known for this dish, both in cut and flavor. And the limpiest crispy pata that seemed to come out of the refrigerator. It did not help that the fresh coconut in the shell that i ordered for drinks had meat as thick as a slipper and as tough as sole that you couldnt spoon i out. Even toilet amenities are sorely lacking. And a TV remote that worked only if you are right in front of the TV set. I had already asked for a replacement at that since the one i found in the room when i got in didnt absolutely work. The location was good i found out in the morning. There was breakfast with the accommodation but with my trauma over the food the previous evening. Forget it.
