“Good accommodation, but not value for money.”

Offered as apartment for self catering. There is no cooker in the kitchen. The small restaurant in the house is only intermittently opened. Directly in front of the house is the highway. By the insane noise can not open a window. For power outages there is no air conditioning. The apartment is only cleaned 1x a week. The facilities such as swimming pool described are not included in the price. For this is cashed vigorously again. There is no parking space in the very small bathroom. Children and pets are not allowed.
Positive is the fantastic view from the balcony directly in front of the highway.

Thank you for staying at our unit for seven nights. We are surprised that you consider our apartment as not offering value for money, especially as you made no complaints during your stay.

The apartment comes with a kitchenette which has a microwave, toaster, fruit juice blender and rice cooker etc. Photos of the kitchen are displayed on our Tripadvisor listing. As this is Asia you will find many families choose to eat out and many of our guests choose to sample the local delicacies such as sumptuous Bulalo or fresh tawilis (tiny fish found only in Tagaytay) or lavish on fresh fruits from the mahogany market. For fine dining Josephine’s is directly opposite the site while Antonio’s, Gourmet’s and Sonya’s Garden are a short walk or jeepney ride (Jeepney stop on site) as are coffee shops: Starbucks, Bag of beans. On site you can sample Italian and Taiwanese dishes while children of all ages will love the ice-cream parlour. If you had contacted us we could have offered suggestions alternatively you could have searched the internet as our unit offers high speed cable and wireless internet plus an internet enabled SMART TV.

We note that you mention the 'fantastic view' of Taal lake and volcano. You will find that all 5 star establishments that offer a direct view over Taal lake, including our own, are located along Summit Ridge as only two storey buildings are allowed on the cliff edge. Our apartment is the tallest building in Tagaytay at 23 storeys and your apartment was located on the top floor offering unrivalled views of Taal volcano and the surrounding countryside. As many people visit Tagaytay to enjoy the view and clean air a two lane road runs alongside the cliff and the hotels. At busy times it is natural that their will be road noise. Speaking as someone who has lived in various German cities I am of the opinion that the noise is no greater than found in many parts of Europe.

In the unlikely event of a electrical power disruption you will find a delay while the back up power supply comes online and naturally electrical items such as the air-con will not work at that time.

The apartment was cleaned prior to your arrival and again during your stay. We do not advertise daily cleaning on our listing however it is available at an additional charge.

You will note on our listing that we make no mention of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, badminton and basket ball courts, pool tables or other facilities offered by the club house as they are optional extras offered to guests who wish to use them. You were made aware of the charges (less than 3 Eur per head) if you wished to use them. The club house is a private establishment outside of our control.

The bathroom is not large by European standards but then Asians tend to be on the slim side and facilities are designed appropriately. There is adequate space for one person as can be seen on the photos displayed on our Tripadvisor listing.

For safety and hygiene reasons children and pets are not allowed in a 23rd floor apartment and this is clearly stated on our listing.

Although value for money is a relative concept we are naturally disappointed that you hold that opinion. May we ask if you had considered other establishments before considering a 7 day stay with us? The nearest 5 star hotel in our area is the Taal Vista who offer a 30 sqm lake view room (as opposed to our 37 sqm 1 bed apartment) at an average cost of 154 Eur/night plus 12% sales tax, 0.75% city tax and 10% service charge.

Regards,

Jazz

“Great View”

Just rented this unit for 2 night in April. The unit is new, neat, clean and has a great view of Taal Volcano from the balcony. Pictures are very accurate and I can't add any photos that would be any better than what you see in the listing. It is exactly as pictured. Very good location. Wifi and new large flat screen TV with many many channels to choose from.
Only cons I would have is the noise from the road and no air conditioning. Most of the time Tagaytay is cool at night and all you need is a fan, there are 2 fans provided. Philippine vehicles tend to be a little loud compared to what most westerners are used too. Loud exhaust systems on scooter bikes and jeepney's. Unless you are used to this noise it may interfere with your ability to have a good nights sleep. Noise is normal in the congested parts of the Philippines but the noise here is amplified by the structure itself. Also sounds in the hallway seem louder than I have noticed in other types of condo's I have stayed in before.
Other than that this is an excellent condo rental in Tagaytay. We would be willing to stay here again. Nicely fitted and decorated.

Thank you for your comments and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We would like to point out that since your stay a split type air conditioner has been installed. Road noise is a characteristic of the Philippines and in Tagaytay all hotels including 5 star hotels are located on the ridge overlooking the lake to get the perfect view that people desire. In order to transport people to those hotels a road is needed so unfortunately you can not have one without the other.

“Fantastic experience from booking to departure”
Reviewed 8 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Blowing in the Wind can not be faulted. Booking was quick and easy with speedy response to our questions. We were met on arrival, shown how to use all the facilities in the unit and met again on departure. The host was friendly and very professional.

We instantly fell in love with this apartment. The listing and photos shown accurately describe the apartment which is spotlessly clean and fresh. The bed and sofa is very comfortable and the internet smart TV was great for catching up with our favorite shows from home. The stand out feature of this apartment is the balcony which provides amazing views of Taal lake and volcano in particular at dawn and sunset you could spend all your time on the balcony or watching the views from the bed so much so that you may not want to go out but if you do everything is on your door step.

The building comes with a laundry, bank, convenience store at ground level and restaurants and a supermarket are a short walk away. Jeepneys stop outside the building if you want to go to Highlands golf course, Picnic Grove, boat pier etc.

Overall a great place to relax and unwind and we would return in a shot if we could.

Thanks for a holiday we will never forget.
