“All that food, so little time”

Another fascinating side to life in Taiwan. The night markets are the place to go to eat, so much variety and so cheap. Something for every taste.

“Delicious Minced Pork Rice 滷肉飯 from stall No 31”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2013

We came to Miao Kou Food Street in the afternoon. It was not busy during the day. If you happened to drop by this food street, do try the minced pork rice from stall No 31. You will never regret. NT20 per bowl. The rice was not oily at all so you can easily eat at least 2 bowls. The taste was really good compare to other minced pork rice we had during our visit to Taiwan.

Do try other dishes like bean curd and the pork soup. Both taste great too.

“Favorite night market!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

I love the KeeLung night market! There's so much yummy stuff! Like the healthy sandwich, which is actually fried and not so healthy, but oh mine it tastes so good!! There's the one bite sausage, that is super unhealthy but yummy! There's the famous shaved ice stall, it was ok in my opinion.
We tried the tempura which is great, the soy curd noodles, which has a very unique taste! And this famous stall just outside the temple. Can't seem to remember what it's called but its on the right side in front of the temple, facing it. The fen guo is that what it's called? Is quite good. Lots of ingredients and value for money! We had a popiah from one of the streets that we walked into... Near the watsons stall. The popiah is good!!!!!there is a famous tau Huey stall around as well. do try it! The tau Huey in Taiwan is so smooth!!!!
We tried the oyster omelette, so different from the sg one.. We didn't like it >.< It was really tasteless and too chewy!!! Lots of cone starch with very little egg!

Parking is a nightmare. Lots of motorbikes and cars in this town. We parked at some underground carpark and walked abt 5 mins to reach. This is a night market I will go to again :) oh and koi is somewhere along the street near the night market. I mean 五十岚, the original koi... So you can try if your there!

“Taste Taiwanese Culture!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2013

If you travel through Taiwan, spend a day in Keelung visiting small authentic Taiwanese food vendors at Miaokou (downtown area), viewing the harbor from Chong-Cheng Park, visiting the night market, you will learn a lot from those hard-working, humble and friendly Taiwanese people! I was born and grew up there.
