We spend a few days in Chiapas, I read many reviews and from the beginning I liked this hotel.
I had everything what I needed, good location, good service ( is just a few steps from a shopping mall, renowned restaurants, bars, etc.), a large and secure parking lot, pool (small but cozy), restaurant, wifi included in the hotel, room service, etc.
The Palmareca is primarily a business hotel and as expected, we saw no large families or couples, the rest of the guest were basically entrepreneurs and business men , for us was better because wasn’t noise and the place wasn’t crowded either (except for breakfast)
The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable bed, air a bit noisy but only for very sensitive people, very useful amenities such as alarm clock, iphone dock, minibar, coffee maker, a micro waves would have been very useful, but definitely a flat screen would have been excellent (but no big deal).
But what I liked most certainly and enjoy more was the restaurant is just wonderful! , for hotel guest breakfast there is a 50% discount off and is definitely the best meal we ate on the whole trip. Local people stocked the place in the morning , but there is always a reserved area for hotel guests.
you could enjoy Mexican and regional typical dishes like the famous tamale of chipilin (leaf of the region)

They were unforgettable holiday, thanks to all for your good service and we hope see you soon!

Room Tip: suites near the pool are nicer and bigger!

This hotel is very well kept, the rooms are nice and clean, nice furniture, small but nice pool, close to city center, not expensive, but you certenly get more for what you pay! Good choice if you are going to wonder around during the day, and spend a nice evening and night resting by the pool, restaurant, or even your room!

AC is very loud and noisy.
Bed is not that comfortable.
Wifi is not that fast as advertised.

Was on vacation and stayed at the Best Western for 5 days with my elderly parents. Did not make reservation. Our rooms were toward the back and facing outward.

GOOD: Very courteous, helpful, competent and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Spacious and clean shower and bathroom. Free Wi-fi. Nice patio to hangout and read, chat or watch tv. The grounds are lush with flora and kept clean. Great and inexpensive buffet (restaurant also stays open late). Good location and close to a huge shopping mall. Could arrange for tours from the hotel. Public transportation available in front of hotel. Security personnel on the grounds.

NOT SO GOOD: Did not see an elevator for elderly or disabled persons. Key cards kept demagnitizing themselves. Hot water in shower fluctuated. One noisy night owing to another guest. Would feel more comfortable swimming in a pool that is not so close to the front office.

Despite the small inconveniences, we had a wonderful and restful stay here. The staff is awesome. What I especially enjoyed was the feeling of being in an oasis in an otherwise large and bustling city.

Bought a package that included this hotel, I read some reviews before, and took the chance, I felt it was O.K., it actually was better than expected, nice rooms, excelent service, beautifull trimmed gardens, a small but nice pool, but the best was the excelent breakfast fuffet, scrumptious local cuisine, plus the normal breakfast dishes, but the best was the price for the hotel guests, only, $50.00 pesos per person for that incredible buffet, it was unbelievable, if you make the conversion to dollars is only $4.00, you can not even buy a decent hamburguer for that price, the only bad part for the hotel was a very noisy AC, but we left it on at max temperature during the day and turned off at night, we slept ver well.
Highly recomneded, I left a not about the AC to the manager; I hope every one shoud do the same, may be they will catch on and make some changes about it.

Room Tip: You may as for a room that the AC wont be so noisy

Best Western chain hotels tend to be quite different all around México. Tuxtla Gutierrez's is one of the most comfortable ones I have stayed thus far.

They have some sort of partnership with a breakfast only restaurant that offers (in my opinion) the best Breakfast buffet in the area and the best thing about this, guests get to pay a flat fee of $50.00 Pesos (FEB 2013) for the entire breakfast buffet.

The only downside to this, the AC system is quite loud and showers don't have a great water pressure; still very spacious bathroom to enjoy the long wait to rinse yourself.

Beds are comfortable and TVs are old but have a good channel selection to browse.

Really like the location, very good breakfast, nice pool, very good Internet service, has a gym, near a mall with a grocery store. Rooms have fridges. Only downside is that it's really in this city and the AC is very noisy. Best plan is to crank it up, then turn it off to sleep.
