It was my 1st visit to Cabarete, It was very entertaining. It caters to the young crowds, so young adults will enjoy it most. Would travel there again with my teen nieces and nephew.

Although we have never stayed in a hotel on Cabarete beach, we have visited many times. The Hotel we stay at is not far away. It is a long beach that actually goes for Kilometers in both directions. However what is actually called Cabarete beach is a wide crescent of sand and surf fronting the town of Cabarete. A few years ago, they pumped more sand onto it that was lost to erosion. There is now plenty of space to play or lie in the sun. There are several walkways between the hotels to the main street of Cabarete which allows access to restaurants and shops. If you desire, there are also restaurants right at the beach. You can rent a lounge chair, buy a drink or other things from vendors right on the beach.

The water is ok for playing in near the shoreline. However it is not good for serious swimming. Keep in mind that because of the windy conditions offshore much of the time, this beach is considered a destination for windsurfers and kite boarders. They are very considerate though, of those playing in the shallows. Just keep an eye out for any novices that lose control.

There are competitions from time to time and usually a sand castle contest every year.

We personally like a more secluded and quieter beach to spend our time on, but it's fun to visit when we're in the mood. If you like activity and more people, then you will enjoy it.

Great beach, crowded on holidays, not a swimming beach, waves are too strong, except early in the morning. Lots of white sand and flat beach
