The units are well maintained, cleaned, quiet (even with the construction of an hotel next door) and the personnel are very friendly. We stay in A4. We also felt safe and secure (there is 2 guardians on the premises 24hrs a day) but Cabarete is not a dangerous place, we even walked at night on the beach during the full moon to go to the several good restaurants downtown, it's a 15-20 minute walk otherwise we would take a "Moto-Concho" or moto-taxi from the hotel for a few dollars. It is a little bit more adventurous not to mention scary but it's only a 2 minute ride. You could always ask for a regular cab.

I brought all my kite equipment and rode in front the property which was not crowded. There is a large grass area to pump and clean/rinse your gear with running water. The guard will help you to launch or land your kite if needed (Thanks Rainer!).

This place is good for people who would like to feel at home more than in an hotel with all the service, bar or restaurant. The people present at the time were quiet and liked it that way!

We have rented several condos in the Caribbean and this place was the best for the price paid!

Room Tip: You can walked to the grocery store nearby. For Kiters: bring your pump! Not related to the property: there is lots of dogs on the beach and the owners don't necessary pick up after them, the same goes for the horses when they are rented.

We are a family of 4 with 2 young teenagers. Have stayed at "Nanny" in 2011 and 2012. We love this place. The condos are great and right on the beach with 2 levels (and 3rd floor sundeck) that have plenty of room and spectacular veiws of ocean from all windows! Here you can play in pool or body surf in ocean. Swimming is recommended in the am before the 'kiteboarders'come out to play. Waves are "wavey" but we managed to enjoy them just the same. In the afternoon you can sit on the loungers and watch the kiteboarders! Or try out kiteboarding as there are many kiteboard school to chose from right in that area. The heart of Cabarete with all the restaurants and shopping is only a 15min. walk on the beach. Soooo many restuarants to chose from and dinning on the beach. The whole experience staying at 'Nanny' was great because the staff are the best! Maria and all her staff are freindly, very helpful and are always smiling. It was nice to see the familiar smiles when we returned the second time. I can very well say that Maria will most certianly go out of her way to accommodate you.as she has proven this to us more than once. They will assist you in planning excursions, booking taxis etc. "Koodo's" to the 'Nanny Team' There is a very 'family' feeling here as many families will also return again and again. Book here and enjoy!!!

We have returned the past 3 years for a one-week stay in February...it is a perfect oasis, located an ideal distance to town(10 minute walk) and right on a great beach. The townhomes are very large with two bedrooms and two floors; private balconies and rooftops all with ocean views. Each unit has spacious living rooms and large open kitchens. The town is different and more pleasant than any others ive stayed at in the D.R. with Great restaurants, shops and bars.
You cant beat the price and friendliness of the staff and locals. We are booked again for this coming february.

Room Tip: It doesnt really matter if your room isnt oceanfront or one of the first few units. All units are less than 100 feet from the sand and have the same great ocean views.

When my husband booked a 2 bedroom apartment at the Nanny Estates (C3, then A2), I was a little nervous at first because the price seemed too good to be true. The apartment was very clean and simple but perfectly located in Cabarete. We were then moved to the second apartment which was super nice. The complex was close to the center of town but not in the heart of it. Located directly on a kitesurfing beach (perfect for my kitesurfing hubby!), the winds would flow through the apartment. Each apartment is air conditioned in the bedrooms only, but you really don´t need it otherwise. We had a full kitchen to cook in and great restaurants to eat at nearby. There is even a great place to eat breakfast or lunch at, the Cabarete Coffee Company, right in front of the complex. Loved it! The complex has a small but great pool. What I liked most about the place was the community. Most tenants were European and extremely friendly who are staying for 3-4 weeks, and the owners were also very friendly and welcoming. We would all hang out after a day in the sun and have cocktails at sunset. We made new friends, visited old ones and enjoyed our stay very much. I would definitely recommend the Nanny Estates to anyone who wants to have a great place to stay while not breaking the bank. They even have a woman who can come to your apartment and cook a typical Dominican meal for you for $12/person (includes food, her cooking it, serving it and cleaning up afterward) as often as you want. Maribel was great! The only thing that drove me a little crazy was the thumping music that went on at the all-inclusive down the way. As long as we cranked up the a/c, we would avoid hearing it. The best thing for that is to rent an apartment farther away from the beach if this would be an issue for you. The staff at Nanny Estates was also great. They can do your laundry for a reasonable cost, can get you a grill if you want to bbq, and can bring you water bottles. No pets are allowed. Free parking. Most apartments are 2 bedrooms, but they do have one 3 bedroom available for a bigger family. We will definitely return! What a fabulous home away from home! Thanks for an unforgettable summer vacation!

Room Tip: I highly recommend apartment A2. Close to the beach and away from unwanted noise. Beautiful view from 2nd floor bedroom.

We were looking for something different (and inexpensive) for our 25th anniversary Dec 26, 2007 and found it here. For a very low price in the caribbean for this time of year, we had a fab 2-bedroom townhouse with amazing views of the ocean from every room and a rooftop deck as well. We stayed in A2 - loved the circular staircase.

I completley agree with the complimentary comments about Maria and Lourdes - they were very helpful in arranging tours and taxis. Maria even arranged for Ramon to take us on a day tour to Santiago among other places he showed us along the way. We very much enjoyed that day more than even the Monster truck safari. It gave us some real insight to how the locals live and work.

The location was also excellent and we could walk down the beach toward Cabarete to some of the restaurants during the day - at nite we took taxis into town (no more than $7, sometimes $5 or even $3) to sample the great food - lots of choices. However, none take credit cards - cash is king here!

Pool and no fitness center unless you count our wonderful walks on the windy beach. Walking away from Cabarete to the Point one day we found locals selling shells they were swimming out to get from the ocean - great way to shop! Tip- the sand is very fine- your beach shoes fill with sand immediately and just make it more difficult to walk. Bring a bag for your shoes and walk barefoot. Also, walk along the edge of the water to avoid the vendors if you're going into Cabarete. Here it's no way as thick as the many vendors in Sousa - just a few hair braiders, cigar salesmen and flower/fruit girls.

The only negative was the late night noise from the resort next door. Apparently, they had a club outside on the beach. It really had to be loud on the C side.
We actually missed the sound of the wind when we returned home!

Room Tip: When we go back, I would definitely book A1. For the same price of A2 (just under 1K in Dec); you get a king bed instead of a queen in the master with another window on the beach side, more living room furniture and double doors from the living room/kitchen leading to a patio by the beach to boot.
