Description: Tucked away in Plaza Ocean Dream, Yamazato enjoys a reputation for serving the finest Asian cuisine on the north coast. Those in the know, say it is "the spot" for Sushi in the D.R.!! Our handy location with a beautiful outdoor patio and fountain as well as the ample parking, makes it one of the better off beach locations in Cabarete. Enjoy the exceptional talent of chef LAOSAENG CHAIYAWAT (Yong) who has more than 15 years experience in Bangkok, Thailand and Haifa, Israel. Immerse yourself in the authentic cuisine of Asia. From classic Japanese sushi dishes to delicious Thai stir fries, everything is sublime and one visit is simply not enough. This fall our LUNCH SPECIALS changes with new offerings of classic Japanese dishes including Yaki Soba and Kai Su Don. It is the philosophy of Yamazato, to blend various Asian cuisines and constantly surprise! Another element that distinguishes Yamazato is the use of only the freshest of ingredients, many picked the same day from our organic garden. Our staff is an extraordinarily friendly bunch, as welcoming and helpful to first time visitors as they are to regulars. Eating out is one of life's greatest joys. At Yamazato it's about the whole experience, the setting, the service and most importantly, what's served up before you. Yamazato never ceases to surprise and amaze. With so many interesting dishes on the menu, it's hard to narrow down your choices but help is on hand. The super friendly waiters and Sushi Bar chef's are more than willing to share their suggestions. Yamazato is not only about the mouth watering food, the delightful courtyard with its lovely fountain is a beautiful setting for dining al fresco during the cooler months and when the heat proves too much you can take refuge in the air conditioned and authentic Japanese ambiance inside. For a great lunch, try our delectable "bento boxes", in each compartment you'll find a different treat. It's an exceptional value for your money. If you don't want to get into your car and drive to Cabarete, Yamazato will bring its culinary delights right to your home with free delivery in the Cabarete area. What better way to spend a beautiful Caribbean evening, dining on your terrace and enjoying Yamazato's wonderful Asian cuisine.

Yamazato was a revelation, the finest sushi experience not just at Cabarete but in the whole Island! I consider myself a sushi devotee; Ingredients were impeccably fresh and expertly slice. It was a delicious Festival of flavors. My favorite was the Volcano their own creation, an exquisite presentation and an exotic savor, simply unforgettable! Cozy environment and friendly staff, prices are incredibly reasonable considering the quality received! By far the best in its category!!!

I visited this fantastic sushi place as it was recommended by friends who travel to Cabarete every year. During the stay we came into a very nice small talk with local people who come here many times. I have to say, I can understand why they pick this sushi restaurant very often ;-) I was surprised about the high quality of the food, because sushi is not really the flagship for Dominican cuisine. The chef works with great attention to detail, the meals are very delicious, fresh and affordable. The service was friendly and attentive.Too bad, that we did not come earlier here, but during the next kitesurf vacation I'm guaranteed to be here!!! Compliments to the owner of this small and fine sushi restaurant and good luck for the future!
