“Go there”

Tucked away in Bishopstone, this is a truen hidden gem. The food is locally sourced, cooked to order and is absolutely delicious. Good, wholesome food at its best.

Waiting staff are courteous, the chef and owner is an experienced restaurateur and always checks with customers that food is to their taste.

A wonderful place, in short. The decor needs updating but with so many pubs going under, it is understandable that time and money is being invested in the product, first.

“nice food ..tired premises”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

visited for evening meal. Warm eating area on a bleak night. Good knowledge of Gluten free dietary needs ..dealt with in an unfussy manner.
Food good...very large choice.
Only downside is that the premises are in need of updating ...but good value and we would go again

“Lovely food”

Lovely food, value for money, don't be put off by appearance. Friendly landlord. My only criticism was a bit restricted on space for 2's......too close to next table.

“A bit rough round the edges, but good intentions deserve encouragement”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2012

We arrived in Salisbury after 3 pm on a Saturday afternoon and hungry. The foyer of the White Hart, where we usually have tea, was taken up with a wedding. We hadn’t had lunch, and wondered if we could get a sandwich at the bar. I fully expected to be told no. But it wasn’t a problem. Tea and three portions of sandwiches, two ham and one cheese and pickle, appeared within a few minutes.

The carpet in the bar needs a good clean. The room has a rather dated air. The sandwiches were generously buttered and filled, but lacked finesse: a very big portion, with two rounds each. The cheese and pickle ones were the stars. Sliced tomato and lettuce by the side as well as crisps was a nice touch, but difficult to eat without a knife and fork. The big, hot pot of tea was just what we wanted though, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. So good marks.
