“Not brilliant”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

We try to support local businesses and go to the owners other business Cooking Made Simple fairly regularly so we thought we'd try the Bulls Head for a change. I really wish we hadn't! Service was extremely slow, there was only one person working the bar. This was followed for a 40 minute wait for the food. Now I appreciate the food is "cooked fresh" but 40 minutes for a chilli con carne and a pulled beef sandwich? Not really acceptable. The chilli wasn't brilliant, it had heat but no taste and was served on a bowl so cold it had condensation. I had to ask the waiter for the cheese and the sour cream as they had been forgotten. The quantity would have made a great starter but was very poor value at nearly 9 pounds. The pulled beef sandwich was swimming in orange grease. It made the bread soggy and tainted the salad. It did taste nice though, after being let down by the chilli I ended up eating half my partners dinner. Dessert? After the wait for the main course we gave it a miss.

“Won't be going again.”

Soooooooooooo slow! Indifferent attitude, food and surroundings. Expensive for the very ordinary and take a torch, they seem to be saving on the electric.

“Nice local pub with good food”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

As a regular visitor I just cannot understand some of the reviews complaining about poor serice or the quality of the food. We eat there at least once a week and I can honestly say that the food has always been good and the staff, without exception, are always very friendly.

The whole place has been given a new lease of life in th epast 12 months and it seems to be very popular judging by the difficulty getting a table at weekends.

It's not the Ritz, so don't go expecting a five star restaurant, it's a country pub that does nice food in casual surroundings - and the beer is always top notch.

“Customer service”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

We visited the bulls head on the 28th of this month and had the worst welcome I have ever experianced the bar staff were rude and ill mannered. We order our food and after a shot wait it arrived only down side was the raw burger we complained to the waitress jordan I think her name was and she was rude and quite aggressive about our complaint as she took the food back to the kitchen poor custome service. My new burger was then returned by the chef who was very appologetic andexplained his mistake and went out of the way to make us happy in my eyes he should be serving and bar staff should be kept in the kitchen where they cant offend customers

“Sort your customer service out please”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

Been here a few times, decor good, location for us excellent, food quite good.......our problem......how the landlord and staff deal with an issue or complaint. Customer service is very limited.
One time we went with friends, some who go weekly, we all ordered but two of the meals went to another table. The waitress came over to explain that they will have to make the two meals again so as a group we didn't all eat together...a pet hate of mine. The landlord came over, we explained our plight and he just didn't care, made that very plain....the ironic thing was it was the regular people whose meal was messed up and if the landlord had offered those two people a drink whilst they waited (even though only one would have taken up the offer)this would have part rectified the issue instead of him being very rude and walking off.
Again we met up with friends this week.....cutlery didn't all arrive even though it was asked for a number of times, food luke warm....the table near to us, a couple, complained that their food wasn't warm enough.....how was this dealt with..... the waitress took the food back and then came back with it.....the chef had tested it with his temp gauge and declared it warm enough.....no re heating to appease the customer....they eat some of the food and then left.....yet again no customer service.

So please please take some customer service training, remember your customer is important, you will always have complaints but it's vital you deal with the complaint in the correct way.....then we can make this our regular place to eat
