The service at the Nakamanda is quite good compared to other hotels in the region. The staff are very accommodating, honest, and friendly.
The view from the hotel is across from a small island that you can walk to when the tide goes out. Compared to some other Krabi hotels the view from the Nakamanda is not fantastic, but if you spend some time on a boat or kayak tour, you will see great views so not to worry.
The spa is absolutely wonderful and we spent at least an hour there each day...would have stayed longer.
The pool is large and well maintained, has chlorine which is good to keep it clean.
The restaurant is not bad, facing the beach, and the food quite tasty, but not too fancy. Extensive wine list. Breakfast was ok, not bad, not great. Same buffet in most hotels with fruit, cereal, congee, egg stand, pastries, hot meats, thai noodles.
The hotel rooms are spacious and very accommodating with large comfy beds, aircon, well equipped bathrooms, a safe to store valuables, beach bag, sandals, umbrellas, slippers, robes, electric kettle, daily mineral water, free wi-fi, and multi-EU/US plugs. There is also a nice sala veranda with a table, towel rack to dry swimwear, and a large futon cushion. Great to relax there, especially with the overhead ceiling fan, and electric bug killer. Bring bug spray while outside!
There seems to be lots to do around Krabi including boat tours, kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, diving, elephant tours, etc. Some of it is easily accessed right off the hotel's beach front.
If you get bored, you can visit the hotels next door which are larger resorts and bigger restaurants.
The negatives were 1) we had no hot water, I'm sure an oversight or repair by engineering can fix that 2) despite a lovely spacious bathroom, there was no privacy in the toilet area 3) not too many restaurant or shop choices in Klong Muang but you can easily travel by taxi to Ao Nang, albeit the hotel car transfer is quite expensive at 500 bht each way. Mosquito nets over the beds would be nice too.
Overall we enjoyed our short stay, and I would recommend the hotel because the prices are reasonable and the location is not so touristy, which is good because most of Thailand and its beach towns can get a little rundown and overrun with tourists.

Great place - very relaxing and great place to get away as it is outside of town and you can really unplug. Well designed, cool rooms and good food. We had a private patio for relaxing just the two of us, the bathroom was really large and spacious, and the bed nice with a view. The restaurant is beachside/poolside and perfect for lounging around. It was a bit if a drive - maybe 40 minutes from the airport but well worth it for peace and quiet. Definitely recommend it if you're in Krabi and want to unwind!

We just finished a three night stay at the Nakamanda. This resort is fantastic. The staff are all very kind and go above and beyond to assist you. It was our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a message on the bed with rose petals and complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. Excellent value for the price paid for the gorgeous sea view villa and amenities. We went out onan elephant trek one day and took the phi phi islands tour another day. Both highly recommended. The resort had a great pool and free kayak rentals as well. We will definitely return!!

Room Tip: Sea villa views fantastic.

We stayed at Nakamanda for 4 days and all to be said is: Perfect. Location is secluded set among lush greenery.Hotel restaurant is bit pricey for Thai standards, but serve great food. Setup of the resort is great with lot of seclusion and privacy. For excursions, on the beach there are long-tail boats that take guests to nearby islands. Pool area is great - very spacious and relaxing. Breakfast is good as well although bigger selection of fruits would be great.
Spa centre is small but nice with plenty of treatments - treatments are first class - definitely worth visit. Couple treatments (2-3 hours) are good deal as well.
Only drawback of the resort is the fact that room inventory is little bit worn out (drawers, wardrobe and similar wooden elements), but this is definitely not a big issue since beds are heavenly comfortable.
We also visited nearby Sheraton resort, but it is much bigger than Nakamanda. So if you prefer personalized service in intimate atmosphere choose Nakamanda.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor room since each villa has ground floor and first floor. First floor villas have...

Great villa, friendly staff and very peaceful. Beach was right at our door step. Breakfast at the resort was decent. Nothing fancy. There are other restaurants and convenience stores just outside the resort. Overall, it was a great place to chill out. Had a great time!
