We had a wonderful honeymoon at this resort! The resort is well away from any busy tourist areas however it's still easy to get to nearby towns including the main beachside town Ao Nang by either taxi or scooter.

The staff were amazingly friendly, the food was fresh and delicious and the beach offered fantastic views of the Hong Island group. The room was very comfortable and felt luxurious.

We would have loved to see more variety on the wine list but overall our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing and would definitely recommend this resort for both families and couples!

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms (especially around the pool) offer a lot more privacy than the ground level rooms...

My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic 5 nights at the Tubkaak boutique resort. Despite only being there a short time, we feel as though we have been away for weeks! The resort is quite isolated, however they do offer a thrice weekly shuttle into Ao Nang, at a small cost. We ate in at the hotel restaurant several times and found the quality of the food to be excellent, and reasonably priced by hotel standards. We also took advantage of the happy hour each evening with 2 for 1 drinks. Cocktails at the beach bar at sunset are amazing! The buffet breakfast had a good variety of European and Asian options and delicious fresh fruits. There is also a coffee machine in the room.
The resort is small compared to others but still very private.
The facilities at the hotel are excellent, rooms are serviced twice per day, and includes complimentary bottled drinking water. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and eager to assist in any way they can.
We would definitely stay at the Tubkaak again.

This property was amazing. My husband and I had a beautiful upstairs room by the pool which was very well appointed and the outdoor shower was wonderful. The beach and island scenery was beautiful and the size of the hotel was great because you never had the feeling of having to wait for food or feel cramped in any way. The staff were fantastic, as was the food. While we were there, there was a wedding on the beach with all the guests staying at the hotel. There was a wonderful atmosphere shared by all, guests and hotel guests alike, it was magical and seemed too much trouble, very relaxed...we will certainly be back!

We stayed at Tubkaak based on the amazing reviews we read on tripadvisor. Well, if you like being held hostage to their extremely high prices, in the middle of nowhere then this is the hotel for you! Seriously, I have been all around Thailand for years and years and Tunkaak charged the highest for food and beverages I have ever seen. On a positive note the grounds are lovely and the view across to the Krabi islands is exceptional. Their rooms are very nice though there is something odd about the positioning of them, perhaps it is being high up in the beachside or something...you will know what I mean when you stay there! The staff in the restaurant are very friendly however you are rarely there for meals as they are so expensive. Their breakfasts are exceptional it has to be said and if you can afford to eat there at night the sunsets are amazing. The front desk staff are friendly when it comes to paying your bill at the end of the stay but seemed rather aloof and curt otherwise. There is one shuttle bus which takes half an hour into the local town (which everyone wants to use as they are trying to escape being held hostage by the hotel) however...this bus only runs every SECOND day as the hotel wants to keep you there spending money on overpriced beer, drinks and food!! The Hotel also ordered a taxi for us though we found out that they had actually doubled the charge of the taxi and pocketed the rest! The coffee machines in the room are European style but after trying to work out how to work it and losing the coffee pucks in offer they were wanting to charge us for other ones per coffee puck! Whilst there are many good points to this hotel there is an intangibly weird vibe to the place which I could not put my finger on. It is like it has sketchy management and this odd feeling is passed down through the staff who work there. Not a happy place for some reason. The beach it sits on is stunning and unspoilt though they are starting some construction next door to the hotel so be warned. The massage in the beach next to the Hotel is excellent and a tenth of the price of the hotels massage. The grounds are natural and well kept and they have designed the modern hotel around the old trees which is nice. Overall if you can handle having your last cent squeezed out of you as you have so much money it doesn't matter then this is your place.

We are taking very long journey from Phuket to here. And we are so sad that our holiday is too short and only stayed 2 nights here because the hotel and their beach are really awesome!!

Staff: Super!
Friendly and helpful staff and all of them are very professional.

Facilities: Perfect!
Nice and simple decorate, but clean and comfortable. Their shampoo and bathing gel are very good smell and relax! And our room is facing the swimming pool, the environment is very nature and you would find frogs everywhere at night, but not scary, it's a nature!we like!

Day tour they offer: Highly recommended!!cheap and PERFECT!
We never expect we can rent a guide and a small boat for 2 and visited 4 small island with such cheap rate. you would find many jelly fish around(safety) and the time he sent us to the island, there's no one there and you can enjoy the whole island. When some other big tours came, you can go to the next one or come back again later. the tours are SUPER value of money and relax.

Restaurant: Nice music, fantastic food!
good taste and many choices. Facing the beach with listening the music and the sea. It was so impressive and romantic.

We definitely recommend all our friends to stay here and we would come again!!
Thanks all the staff in The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort. You are the best.

We haven't even left the walls of the hotel, but couldn't leave soon enough. Heeding the positive reviews, my wife and I decided on this hotel for the mainland Krabi leg of our honeymoon.

While there are admittedly positive aspects about our stay here -- the staff is friendly enough, the premises are somewhat idyllic and the breakfast buffet is well equipped -- there pluses are just not redeeming enough to pull this place out of purgatory and don't hold a candle to the kind of service we got at other hotels in the region, like Layana on Koh Lanta.

To start, the food is absolutely atrocious, while also being ridiculously overpriced. We had our most expensive meal to date in Thailand in this hotel, and not because we'd ordered any more extravagantly than we had anywhere else. Everything from the $8-French fries to the insipid Thai dishes were surprisingly bad. It's almost as if their small serving sizes were an admission of its shoddy quality. My wife had a craving for a hamburger and the meat was grey, rubbery and unnatural looking. Think of a waterlogged cadaver. And it tasted about that good as well. We know that hamburger isn't a traditional Thai dish...but really?!?! And good luck finding other eating options close by; this is sadly all there is.

The rooms are basic but nice, but the bathroom is moldy ( see pic) Yes, mold. And lots of it. And when the cleaning service came to make our bed, they literally threw the sheet back up over the bed (see pic) and put the dirty dishes (from room service) off to the side, limiting their effort to the bare minimum. Our room service remains spent more than 24 hours waiting outside our door. Coming back after a long day out, we saw that at least the hordes of ants outside our door were well fed.

The beach is eh -- falls far short of elsewhere in Krabi and very far short of the islands' nearby. And the hotel services here are far more expensive than those offered elsewhere.

Construction next door for the hotel's expansion is both loud and unsightly. 'Boutique'? Try corporation. It's as boutique as Macdonalds, both in philosophy and atmosphere. When we were forced to cut our honeymoon short due to a family emergency, the manager refused to reimburse us for the days unspent -- even partially. Profiting from misfortune; more of the same. 'Boutique'? Try having some class and compassion first.

Thank you for your comments about our food and room. However, the non refund matter that happened, was agreed by you since you booked the room via your .com travel agency. We understood that you are upset but the terms and conditions have stated that way. And these terms and conditions are set by your .com travel agency. We accept all facts but your action that you made on 16 April 13 was totally unacceptable and illegal in our country. You sent a fraud email to your travel agency, to inform them that we will refund money to you for your unspent 2 nights. We have the prove that you used an unauthorized username to create this fraud email.

Our hotel is open for 11 years and we never reply any comments on Trip Adviser because we fully believe that all people who read the reviews can judge all pros & cons that list on our page by themselves. However, this is our first reply as you are trying to ruin our hotel reputation by making fraud evidence. We never had guest said curse words as you did to me. You said "I hope such family emergency will happen to you then you can understand my situation." But the worst part that you said "I'll do whatever action to ruin your hotel reputation."

Fresh off the ferry from Phi Phi and ready for some pampering...and we were not disappointed! It's a beautiful boutique/small resort in a stunning part of Krabi province. We had a very charming welcome from the concierge & reception staff and shown around the resort and into our room. The deluxe room has the added benefit of being on the second floor of the pool facing 2-storey bungalows, extra privacy and also a balcony with lounge area. The room was very well appointed with lots of small details that made it just perfect. An outdoor bath and shower, free minibar (incl 2 beers), Nespresso machine, anti-mosquito plugs, nice amenities, and the before mentioned balcony were nice surprises.

We fully enjoyed the pool, beach and cocktail happy hour during sunset. The restaurant we tried for both lunch and dinner and, although expensive for Thailand standards, it was well worth it. Can recommend the lobster pasta in white wine sauce! One of the waitresses kept being very persistent in filling up our wine glasses (didnt take a repeated no from us) but guess it added to the memories :)

Would highly recommend this resort to anyone and can't wait to go back myself. Big thank you to all the very kind staff!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the deluxe room with the balcony and views from the 2nd floor. The downstairs (superior...
