“A Perfect Wedding on the beach at the Tubkaak Boutique Resort in Krabi”
Reviewed 14 July 2013

My new wife and I couldn't have been more happy with our romantic wedding experience at the Tubkaak Boutique Resort in Krabi! In a word, it was perfect! We wanted to have a special experience to always remember the begining of our lives together and we could not have had a better experience. It is a beautiful place, just the right size, with a gracious and always welcoming staff. The property is beautiful, the forty plus rooms (they are currently adding about a dozen pool villas) blending nicely into the natural vegetation, leading down a small mountain to a gorgeous beach. Guests are welcomed with a refreshing drink and a personal tour of the grounds on your way to the room. As for the wedding package, it outdid even our high expectations. We booked a Seaview room with an Escape to nature Package (4 nights, Thai massages and a set dinner) and a western wedding on the beach at sunset, with dinner on the beach. We were upgraded to the Laurel sweet, which was gorgeous, and basically like the seaview rooms, but twice as big. I think all of their rooms are nice, but for our wedding, the extra space was great, as I kept to the old fashioned view of not wanting to see my bride in her wedding dress before the wedding. I got ready in one side of the suit and she was preparing with her professional make-up artist (who was definitely worth booking.) The best thing was the interaction we had with khun Siraporn, who coordinated the wedding from our first contact through the romantic dinner on the beach afterwards. She was with my wife the entire afternoon while she prepared, she accompanied us around the hotel grounds with the photographer, she was always there to make everything flawless and effortless. We could just enjoy ourselves and relish the experience. Khun Sunny, the resident manager was also great. Since it was just the two of us, he kept me company while waiting for my wife at the beach. He was also a superb master of ceremonies, being the one to lead us in exchanging our vows. The morning after we arrived when we met with khun Sunny and khun Siraporn after breakfast to go over the schedule for the wedding, he said that we think of ourselves as a family and we are like your family while you are here. I am normally quite skeptical of such sentiments, (I have never written a travel review before) but this time it felt so sincere and proved to be true. The ceremony itself was just perfect, the decorations were really beautiful, the food delicious, the real thing was even more beautiful than the pictures. To sum it all up, it was perfect! Thank you Khun Siraporn, Khun Sunny and all of your staff for a truly magical wedding, a memory we will always be able to cherish.

Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort is a chic - hidden paradise with stunning private beach. The rooms were built with top quality material and you can feel that the proprietor has really good taste. Surrounded by lush tropical forest and this place becomes an amazing place to unwind an relax.

The only drawback is that the food on offer is sub-par. This is tough when it is such a hassle to get to the nearby Krabi town or Aonang,

On Value: for the price we paid for the Ocean view room, we couldve gotten stunning places in Bali. With that being said, Tubkaak Krabi Resort is your best bet for private beach in luxury.

This is an amazing place to spend a few days doing very little, it has a pretty cool beach for swimming and kayaking, they even let you borrow a pair for free. The hotel is a bit far from everything, but the food and cocktails are great and with decent prices so you don't really need to wonder around that much. Sunsets are a dream on this place!
Staff and Management are very helpful.
Make sure you get a Thai massage at the SPA!!!

We were amazed with this boutique hotel.
We stayed for our honeymoon and are we glad we did!!

This hotel is outstanding in every way, the food is great, the rooms amazing, the staff unbelievable, the value ridiculously cheap!!!

We would come back to this hotel anytime (hopefully soon) we go to Krabi!!!

All we have is out of this world memories of the Tubkaak!!!

We stayed at the Tubkaak in May and by far it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in!!

Although the location is a bit remote and you can't really walk anywhere, to compensate they have a complementary shuttle bus three times a week (which is fabulous) but the advantage of it being so remote is the calmness the resort offers and the spectacular views over the private beach and the Hong Islands more than makes up for it!!

The staff are so helpful and friendly you would think that they all own the hotel not just work there. They would remember your name and staff would greet you with with a huge smile and traditional bow every morning without fail. A particular mention should go to Sonny who was absolutely amazing throughout our stay and could not have been more pleasant, helpful or made us feel more welcome!!

The rooms and furnishings were of top quality, we were very fortunate to get upgraded during our stay to a beach villa and it was out of this world! The bed was so huge and comfy, there was a huge plasma tv, dvd player and music player with ipod dock. There was a huge outdoor bathtub which was filled with petals when we arrived which was a lovely touch!

The restaurant was also fabulous....the food was out of this world!! It is a little pricey by Thai standards but the price tag is worth it just for the setting right on the beach and to be serenaded every night by the thai couple just made each night so romantic. Each table was private too and you could even have a table set up on the beach if you wished which the staff went to so much trouble to set up with lanterns and all-sorts!! The breakfasts at the hotel were out of this world! There was so much choice for everyone and there was a chef every morning making pancakes, waffles and eggs at your request. If I make any recommendation you must try the banana roti....AMAZING!!

I will have no hesitation to recommend the Tubkaak to anyone who wants a truly luxurious and relaxing holiday. The service and atmosphere that they provide is second to none. We are looking forward to returning when we next visit Thailand.

I must also add that the construction work was taking place whilst we were staying and it did not affect the enjoyment of our holiday one bit!

Room Tip: We spent our first few nights in a deluxe room which was fabulous and well worth the extra we then g...

We stayed initially for 3 nights and just couldn't revisit booking a 4th night! Lovely quiet place out in the sticks. Very well ran with wonderful staff and managers! It's a relatively small resort but that makes it so much better! It's very well maintained throughout which is nice to see! View from the beach is one of a kind! We loved our room which was a deluxe, which is the minimum you should have as you get a very cool outdoor bathroom and balcony! The only thing I would mention, which didn't make our stay any less amazing, is the prices of food and drink. There are no shops anywhere nearby so you don't have a choice but to pay the top price for everything in the hotel. Also the 17% service charge is a little annoying as its on everything you have plus a 7% tax fee. At the same time your staying in the best hotel on the island, so it's not cheap! Loved every minute of this wonderful place! Did not want to leave!

We stayed here for 6 nights at the beginning of June 2013.
This place exudes calm, serenity and relaxation.
This was despite some general maintenance being done on a couple of bungalows close by, which we barely noticed.
The quality of the service provided by Sunny and his staff is probably the best we have experienced anywhere in the world and it was always provided with gentleness and a smiling face.
I was unfortunately taken ill with dehydration whilst here. Within a little over an hour of nearly passing out (after having been given rehydrating fluids, cold flannels, general pampering from a number of staff, an impromptu massage from the chef and a taxi being arranged), I was sat in front of a knowledgeable doctor 20 minutes from the resort.
As well as the massage, the chef provided exquisite food throughout our stay, both the Thai dishes and the more Western options (e.g. Bruschetta, Caesar salad) were excellent. I would disagree with some reviews that it's expensive - maybe from a Thai perspective, but definitely reasonable from a European perspective. However, that excludes wine which is a Thai problem, not a Tubkaak one - you can't get much under £50/bottle anywhere in a restaurant.
From here we went onto Bangkok where we visited the award winning Nahm restaurant - in our opinion, the food was better at the Tubkaak.
The views from the bar and beach are also stunning.
One cautionary note; the resort is very rural and isolated, there's absolutely nothing outside the front door. The resort will arrange a taxi, but this tends to be expensive compared to ordinary cab fares generally.
You don't really need cash here. Everything including trips can go on your bill for settling on check out.
The hotel will arrange excursions with all pick ups from resort. There are some good ones, however, we went on the Krabi Town Night Market trip. If you like markets okay, but it wasn't particularly big and it was very difficult to occupy three hours until the minivan back.
In summary, we loved it here and would highly recommend it

Room Tip: We took an upstairs deluxe room. Would recommend
