My husband and I joined three other couples for this all inclusive vacation. We stayed for 10 days, which, in my opinion, is too long for an all inclusive. The beach was great, pool was clean, staff was gracious, and rooms were very nice. English was a second language, and most of the nightly entertainment was in Spanish. All in all, a good vacation, but the food kind of became the same after that many days. Make sure you make a reservation for dinner as soon as you get there, as the restaurants may be hard to book.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, the service, the food and the beach was fantastic. We plan to visit this place again! This is one of three iberostar hotels that are next to each other and this is the best of the three. caveat is, that this is adults only, so no childen are allowed. check out the beach speciality restaurant, the service and the food is really great!

This place was amazing! The hotel to the service was hands down the best i have ever received. The workers made the day fun with all the activities it seemed like their was always something to do. Its a definite return!

Go in the winter because the DR is VERY HOT AND HUMID in July. There is little air-conditioning in the hotel except for in the large, pretty sleeping rooms. If one likes long, flat beaches with fine, silky, white sand and aqua water and one hotel following another, one will like this location. The workers are friendly and accommodated my service dog. One should reserve restaurants before one's trip, but can get some bookings while there. There was a great variety of food, including plentiful fresh fruit and fresh fish. 1/2 of our large group got the runs. The activities are all in the hot sun. One can keep cool sailing the Hobie Cats, but beware---we found more than one visitor stranded in deep water with no help in sight.

Room Tip: Look at resort map before requesting a room---pick your favorite location---some rooms are far from the beach.

I have never reviewed a hotel before, but I did so much research prior to going I thought I should give my input. My husband and I traveled to Punta Cana for 6 nights 7 days July 8-14 for our honeymoon. This was my first time out of the country, he has been away several times. The hotel is exactly what it says "Grand" from the second you walk in, all we could say is "wow" the rooms are excellent we had a ocean view - ask for an upgrade when you get there - if they have it normally they will upgrade you no charge.

We immediately met our butler, Alexander who was wonderful - and left several little things for us in the room throughout the trip. The people are so generous and always willing to get you whatever you need. We took up the butlers setting up the jacuzzi tub two nights and it was so romantic. Tommy who is on the starfriends was our favorite - he is hysterical and gets you so involved. Jorge was our favorite server and he was so accommodating. We emailed and made reservations before we went - when we got there they had all 5 restaurants for us booked at 7:15 every night. Our favorites were surf & turf, Japanese, and french (specifically the filet). The beach club and Italian were not the best.

They had buffet for breakfast and lunch each day - if you have been out of the country maybe you are used to this...but the food was just off...maybe they were trying for high end food but it was just different. Certainly edible and some were good....but some things were hard to come by (regular cream cheese, cocktail sauce for shrimp, salad dressings) and since we didn't speak any spanish it was a little difficult - but again we are open minded and made it by just fine. The language barrier was not a huge issue, but it would have been much easier if we spoke more spanish.

We did go to the next door Iberostar hotels...and glad we did to see how glad we were that we picked the Grand. The other iberostars were noisy, crowded, filled with lots of children. We will NEVER take a vacation unless its adults only.
It was a wonderful vacation and I would certainly go to another Iberostar Grand in a heartbeat. We are easy going people and can make by with things that are different like the food. I miss it already !!
