We brought our 2 year old son and stayed in an amazing room courtesy of Apple Vacations. Our concierge - Vincente De Jesus was absolutely gorgeous and just overall an amazing guy. He ran a beautiful bubble bath with flowers while we were at the pool so we came back to find it ready and waiting. What an amazing thing to come home to. He helped us with reservations, where to find things we needed at the stores and the list goes on and on. ask for him if you are planning to travel there soon.

Room Tip: Royal service suites are the best way to go.

My husband and I stayed at the Melia from May 5-12. This was our second trip to this hotel and again, it was fabulous. Check in was a breeze and Carlos was a wealth of information. We were in unit 27 which was only a couple of minutes to the beach and pool. Main restaurants were about 15 minutes away. Last time, we were in unit 18 which was closer to those but further from the beach and pool. Unit 27 was perfect with a lovely garden view.

The grounds at this resort are gorgeous and there are beautiful peacocks and flamingos all around. My husband walked around the entire resort 4 times each morning and then headed to the gym

The staff members were the friendliest people you will ever meet. Not once did we ever feel like someone had his hand out for a tip. Felix at the pool bar was great and the guys who did the pool aerobics were hilarious. There was an 81 year old Grandma who was in there every day and she was having the time of her life.

Turey by the beach was great for breakast and lunch. For dinner, we did Ma Maison (French)2x, Capri 3x which is seafood and Thai twice. Every meal was superb the service was fantastic.

The resort is huge and it takes awhile to find your way around but there is are trams that come around every few minutes to give you a lift.

The gift shop is quite pricey but if you come out of Turey, take a right and walk about 5 minutes, there are several vendors in huts and you can definitely haggle for lower prices. Also, vendors are on the hotel property a couple of nights a week.

While we were there, we were invited to a manager's recption which was great. We talked to one of the managers (I believe she was from Italy) and she was very interested in our comments and feedback Great customer service.

We like this hotel so much that we are planning another trip at the end of September. The only negative thing was our flight...we flew into La Romana and it was a 2 hour trip to the hotel. On the day we were leaving, we got picked up at 9:30 for a 2:45 flight. Missed a whole peach day! None of this is Melia's fault. It was an Apple vacation package. Next time flying into PUJ!

Can't wait to return!

Want to share my experience first hand it was my first time going to Punta Cana, we stay at the Melia Caribe Tropical royal service all the way..The GABI had excellant food and the workers gave us royal service from Juan Carlos Jose etc..Also Vicente de Jesus drove us in the golf cart to the beach and to all our dinner reservations always with a smile awesome service,.Also when l call for room service Angel from the GABI would bring me my morning coffee.I was there nine days and would recommend it. Im looking forward to going back next year.It was absolutely amazing great service from the drivers,front desk,restaurant and bar service everyone was great thumb up to all. From Eva Roman

Everyone was very friendly, greeted you everytime The waiters at all the restaurants were very very nice,especially the restaurant staff at the GABI especially Roberto Mejia and Juan De Carmen. The guy that helped us to our room Juan was very very nice. We loved the Villa where we had our room However we were on the 3rd floor but going up and down the stairs it was kind of dark need more light. beside that everytime was wonderful This was our third time going there
so you must know How much we loved it!!!

6 of us travelled, 5 of us first timers in punta Cana. Loved the resort, very clean. We had some minor issues with our room, but it was multiple issues .... Having said that we were quickly moved to another room no trouble. And then they took the time to make a follow up phone call to make certain everything was fine in the new room. I liked the fact that there were two buffets. The main one and a smaller one close to the pool. Everyday all we had to do for lunch was throw on or cover ups and walk over for lunch. Bar staff around the pool were friendly and fast. However our favorite bar tender over all was "Julio Cesar Felix" at the square bar. He is an incredibly friendly professional bartender. We had a lot of laughs at that bar every night. I can't say enough good things about this bartender.
The cleaning staff in our rooms were excellent, every day out room was spotless. And once they knew I was a diet coke fan they made sure that a bottle was left every day.
This resort is recommendable for sure

Room Tip: I prefer a room closer to the pool, that way if you need to go back to your room for anything it is close. I would rather walk further to the restaurants or bars than the pool
