I just returned from this hotel, I have to say this was better than I expected. The only disappointment was that they were doing construction in the lobby where the free WIFI was. The property is beautiful and very well kept. The entertainment was outstanding, you will fall in love with Willi (Wonka) and Jack...they both go out of their way to make your time enjoyable and fun. They are constantly on the go and I never once saw them not smile. This hotel is definitely worth the money. Give it a try you wont be disappointed !!!!!

Room Tip: Try to get a villa that is centrally located...we were in Villa 3 which is located right in the middle !!

My husband & I were at the Ocean Blue & Sand from Oct 18 to Oct 25. Check in was effortless and our room request was right on. This was our first time here & we are beach people & Bldg 5 is closest to the beach/pools at the standard room rate. It was a perfect location for us and I highly recommend it. Don’t waste your money on the Privilege Upgrade so not worth it! This resort is big but not too large to walk where ever you want to go but they do provide trams often if you’re unable to walk. IMO it was the perfect size. There are 3 floors & no elevators so keep that in mind. We opted for the first floor and it was perfect. Our room was clean/no bugs and the maid, although I can’t remember her name, took very good care of us the entire week. Bring lots of ones for tipping. We never had a problem getting more towels or getting beverages for our room fridge.
Jose was a great bartender at the beach bar. Never went thirsty & the drinks were plenty strong & if not all you need to do is ask for more liquor & make sure you tip cus they really work hard, in fact ALL the employees work so very hard at this resort!
Now for the beach which may be the only thing that keeps us from coming back to this resort. Instead of having the thatched huts (palapas) for shade they have 4 wood posts in the ground with the most ugly, worn, dirty, white canopies that really take away from this lovely resort. Some are even missing the canopies! I say REMOVE THEM ALL & REPLACE with the thatched huts (this would allow for more) & this resort would easily be a 4 ½ star & we for sure would be back & recommend it to others. We would make it down there by 10am and never a canopy in the shade to be found but within a couple of hours we always had one. The beach is narrow and long so you can walk for miles either way. In fact we did every morning. To the left (while looking at the sea) there are vendors and we did shop there. The sea is calm but does have some seaweed but nothing to keep us out of the water! IMO the resort needs to rake the beach more than once a day though. Once in the early morning and then again in the afternoon would be great. Also, my husband loves to snorkel but not very good here cus the water is murky but to no fault of the resort.
The Entertainment Team were good and always had something going on to keep you busy at the beach or pool but we didn’t participate. Juan was great and always had a smile on his face to greet us! The nightly entertainment shows, only went to one “Michael Jackson” and we thought it was awful so we never did go back to see any other. After dinner we opted to go to Mikes Coffee and it was FABULOUS! Then off to shoot pool at the Sports Bar and to the Lobby Bar for more drinks.
Now for the food. The best All Inclusive food we ever had! They do not take reservations which we did like. We learned very quickly on the first night after waiting 2 hours at the Steakhouse for dinner the key here is to arrive right around 5:50 and you will get right in. The second night we did that and we were seated and done eating by 6:50. Our beef filets were perfect! We tried Route 66 and it also was very good, The Mexican was good, & the Caribbean Grill was great! We never did get to try the Italian. The buffet was also very good both for lunch and dinner. We never made it up for breakfast though.
The grounds are very clean. The beach could be better. The pool very clean & refreshing although only went in it once or twice. We had a wonderful wedding anniversary vacation but don’t think we will be back do to the beach canopies (would love to see them replaced so we could call this home) and saw much better larger beaches with palapas on both sides of this resort. My husband & I go to All Inclusives every 2 to 3 months. We loved Punta Cana and their people but Jamaica is still our very favortie! We will be back just probably at a different resort next time.

Room Tip: We requested a 1st floor room in Villa 5 overlooking pool. (Closest to the beach at a standard room rate). Our room was 5117 and it was perfect!
