Five of us stayed at Patagonia House on the first and last nights of our trip to visit friends south of Coyhaique. We all found the hotel to be very clean, quiet, and modern. The mostly English-speaking staff was very helpful and the breakfasts & one dinner we enjoyed there were excellant.

Unfortunately my wife's and my luggage was lost by Delta Airlines and made it to Santiago a couple days after we flew south from there on Lan Airways. The manager Ruth counseled us to continue on to the remote area we were heading for, and she would track our bags down and put them on a bus to a nearby small town. After much effort by Ruth, she finally pulled strings at Lan Airways, received our bags and sent them after us. We owe her a lot, since I can't imagine any other hotel manager in the world doing what she did. She is a very kind and gracious woman.

As noted, Ruth also offers outdoor adventures trips. Her company is: Salvaje Corazon (wild at heart)! They can do trips for: Fly fishing - hiking - camping - Photo Safaris and bird watching as well as logistics. Web site is : http://salvajecorazon.com/pages/01_welcome.html

We found Patgonia House was one of the lovliest and relaxing spots we`ve been to on our trip through Chile.
The rooms are carefully furnished and kept very tidy, the bathrooms have a decent size. If anything does not meet the expectances (which did not happen to us at all...!), the ladies of the house are more than helpful. Breakfast is just delicious - with fresh baked bread (the latest ist "sour dough"...!), yammy brownies and fresh juice. We did not have the chance to try dinner there - but they do have a variety of meals on offer, as well.
The spacious house is cosy with lots of room to sit and relax - in front of the fireplace or enjoying the landscape from the balcony. P.H. is located in really peaceful surroundings just at the border of town. The city center is in easy walking distance (10-15min).

WiFi is no problem in the office and the surroundings (2 min walk downhill) - in the house, which is located a bit uphill, there is currently no proper connection due to the trees.
As we had some trouble reorganizing our flights, we found Ruth, the owner of the house, more than helpful. She was really hands on and tried to sort out everything we could not manage on the spot.

If you do not find someone home at your arrival - just hop down to the cabanas/the office (follow the left-hand-side path instead of the last steep hill to the house) and there is almost always someone present to help and check you in.

Room Tip: The upper room is gorgeous (it`s called "Notro") and very spacious - more a suite than a r...

Really who goes to Coyhaique in Winter? We did because we are trying to ski all of the ski areas in South America. We had the place to ourselves and enjoyed great personal service. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the region. It is just a couple of minutes out of town. Their sign is a little hard to see since it sets back a few feet from the roadway. The wood tones and tiles that they used make you feel like you are in a natural setting. I also liked there not being any television. The WiFi was broken when we arrived but Ruth had it fixed two days later and let us use the connection down by her house until it was repaired. If you are an animal lover like I am you will be glad to know that Ruth started a SPCA in the town and that says a lot to me about the kind of person she is.
The town is a good staging point for some great scenery, but the infrastructure and dinning choices are few and far between in the city.

Room Tip: We stayed in the hilltop house, it has the best view

A beautiful place, a wonderful breakfast, an excellent bed, a very large room, a quiet location, and much more. Above all, we felt like staying with our best friends, or closest family. Ruth went out of her way to make us feel good, helped us solve problems, and took care of us like a mother. (We are older than she is). We hope to be back one day!

No doubt, a wonderful place with five stars in human warmth, noticeable attention to guests needs. Outstanding environment. We hope more people could discover this little gem in Patagonia.

An amazing address, nested away from the city of coihayque, Ruth and her team will receive you as friends. The kitchen is fantastic, Dona Rosa hold her kitchen like a five stars chef.
We stayed first at the main lodge, and then in one of the houses, by the pool.
Everything was perfect, super clean, great personal attention, zero noise.
Good to know Ruth is one of the best guide of the area, do not hesitate to book your trip with her agency at salvaje corazon. She is extremely knowledgeable, wether you want to hike, visit or climb a volcanoe she is the one. Cant wait to go back there.

Room Tip: If you can book the houses by the pool.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Patagonia House between Christmas and New Year. The inn and rooms were very clean with comfortable beds and a spectacular view of the snow covered mountains over Coyhaique. However, the real secret to Patagonia House is the personal attention and family-like atmosphere provided by Ruth and her staff. The best complement I can give them is that Ruth, Rosa and the rest of the staff make you feel like you're at home. Breakfasts and dinners were fresh and homemade. My wife has food allergies and they were able to work around those with delicious alternatives. Through Salvaje Corazon, their travel agency they were able to arrange excellent transportation and also provided good, practical advice on what to see and what to do. We’re ready to go back!
