“wonderful vacation”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Amazing vacation. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We were met at the airport in St. Kitts and brought by water taxi to the resort. As our flight arrived late and we had the meal plan, sandwiches and fruit were prepared and in our room at arrival. The beach is lovely and the hammocks were a nice touch. There are three restaurants (one each for breakfast/lunch/dinner) which had excellent variety. The tennis courts are free and there are some rackets available. There were many great excursions from this hotel that they help arrange - we particularly liked the island tour and the rainforest hike. The cottages were lovely and the grounds had a very romantic feel. There were very few children here - it is better for couples. I loved it!

Room Tip: All inclusive meals are ideal because the food is expensive and it is an expensive cab fare ($20-40...

The second plantation house we visited in the West Indies. Very different from Ottley on St Kitts. A collection of wooden bungalows in the grounds of a great house. Impossibly beautiful view if you get a bungalow which is nearest the beach.A great place to chill and a most magnificent location. After our previous plantation experience on St Kitts(we had been spoiled for the amount of space we had at Ottley), it seemed cramped in the upper small apartment of the bungalow for 3- 2 adults and a child- who had the roll away sofa bed.I had not really understood that we would be so cramped and it would be helpful to make it clear to prospective customers the good points as well as the limitations. It was fine for a few days but would not have liked to spend the whole fortnight with this arrangement. The facilities had a little tea coffee area. It would have helped so much to have a little sink there to fill up the kettle. The staff were delightful with the exception of one who was the person who checked us in. She was unfriendly and unhelpful and did not really seem to care whether we arrived or not.The general manager is very charming and he was very kind to my husband whose birthday we were celebrating. We are most appreciative for his care and attention that made up for a few little niggles that happened. The staff at breakfast and at the beachside restaurant are the most delightful, and they went out of their way to make us feel special. I wish all the ladies well with their various surgical operations. The tennis court and croquet court were a most useful entertainment and we appreciated this. Eating at Nisbet for dinner was fine not exceptional. It took a long time and the food menu was quite heavy. It meant we were tempted out just to enjoy lighter fare and more intuitive service elsewhere. We would certainly return to Nisbet as the location is amazing and we like the idea of a small more intimate place. We would have liked everyone to be friendly and welcoming, and with a few tweaks on the service side the hotel would be unbeatable.

Room Tip: Ask for a bungalow near the beach and on a higher floor

My wife and I just returned from a week at the Nisbet Plantation. If you are looking for a small, quaint tropical resort, with personal attention, then this is an ideal resort. The staff is amazingly friendly and takes great care to provide exceptionally personal service. The resort is a beautiful, intimate place where the guests are able to form fast friendships with the other guests. moreover, the food was amazing and we looked forward to dinner every night as the quality of the food was exceptional. the only draw back was that the beach area was kind of small. I spent my 50th birthday there and from the entire staff to all the other guests, they all made sure it was a special day. the many positives of this resort made it our choice for the place to stay on Nevis. what a great vacation

Room Tip: the upper junior suite was very nice

We hit resort jackpot on our very first stay in the Caribbean. Set on the Atlantic side of the island, Nisbet Plantation is elegant, gorgeous, and quiet but never boring. The staff made us feel like we were their family: Violet and Angela greeted us at breakfast every morning with genuine care - as well as tropical fruit, newspapers, and a full array of breakfast items. Someone from the bar catered to us on the beach all afternoon, and after a day in the waves and under the sun, we were treated to amazing dinners and the company of Paterson, Steve, and so many others, all of whom knew our names, and shared our experiences even as they served us in style. Dancing under the stars, and sleeping under the tropical sun - we will be back!

Room Tip: The standard room was grand enough but some people who like more room might like to upgrade.

Tired of fancy hotels and guests that want to keep to themselves? If so, then Nisbet is the place to go. With its old world charm and small, intimate cottages, guests here get to know one another, making it a wonderful place to come to relax and put away the pretenses. The management and staff, upon your arrival, will embrace you and offer warm hospitality. The value provided is excellent for a Caribbean destination and offers a no pretense experience. This place reminded me of the small cottages at the ocean that I visited in my youth in Maine, including the absence of any TVs. However, WIFi is FREE for ALL devices - so you can Netflix away... If you like that vibe, then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: All rooms are great

Gracious management, friendly and attentive bartenders in the evening. Nice cottage bathrooms. Cottages and furnishings need updating -- bugs and critters easily enter and make themselves at home. The beds and pillows were not up to standards and were downright uncomfortable... Unspoiled beach and amenities at beachside are lovely.
We were surprised at the mediocrity of the food, but the chef was off property when we visited. We had heard excellent things about the food, but we can't vouch for it.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! My wife and I have found our Nevis home! From picking us up at the airport, to taking our bags to our cottage, arranging a rental car, to the room service, we were pampered. Love the fact that there was someone roving the estate at all times and would greet us and ask if everything was ok....made us feel very safe. The room was well appointed and very clean. We were very close to the beach. Staff was warm and very nice. Property was very clean and organized, lots of open space, nice and quiet. Thanx for everything!!! See you next time!!!
