“A truly remarkable Hideaway”
Reviewed 9 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Have just returned from a long weekend at One Button Hideaway. The weekend weather was wet and gloomy, our accommodation was exactly the opposite. Rod pointed everything out to us and then remained on hand, however in a very discreet mode. During our stay he advised on nearby walks, Internet acceptance and other small inquiries which were gratefully received. Following a local walk and a hearty Sunday lunch at the village pub, we thoroughly enjoyed staying indoors as the rain pelted down outside. We felt cosy and warm. The place was spotless with great attention to detail. Ruth's expertise in handicrafts was evident throughout with selections of her work strategically placed. Everything in and around the cottage was good on the eye, with the living, sleeping and bathing areas spacious . The hub of the village is its pub/restaurant and we found the owners and clientele very warm and welcoming indeed. A small village but easily reached from the A1, with many beauty spots a short drive away. Masham and its Black-Sheep brewery are on the door-step. In summary, we both really enjoyed our stay and will return. The weather became inconsequential.

Liked best: We are positive thinkers and therefore made the best of everything
Liked least: Mattress was a tad too soft for my liking but the quilt was superb.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed 22 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We enjoyed a short stay at One Button. We found it relaxing cosy and comfortable with everything we could need. Rod and Ruth are friendly and welcoming hosts and the surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful with lots to do and see. We would certainly recommend it to friends and family and hope to return again ourselves.

“Well appointed and comfortable”
Reviewed 29 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed here for three nights in order to explore Yorkshire. We received a warm welcome from Rod. The cottage has everything you need for self catering, and is very comfortable. The blackout blinds in the bedroom mean it is hard to wake up. The wifi access was hit and miss, so if you need to keep in touch with the world it may be an issue. Otherwise, especially if you are looking to escape, this place is perfect.

“Perfect getaway”
Reviewed 31 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a wonderful week in this beautifully appointed cottage. Everything one needed was provided. The village was hidden away but very easily accessible to the main roads which could take you to nearby villages where one had all the amenities. If one finds it difficult to walk, the path up to the cottage may be a little difficult as there are a few shallow steps to be negotiated. Highly recommended and welcoming hosts.

“Lovely cottage in beautiful area.”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We spend over 2 weeks exploring the Yorkshire Dales and - Moors from this lovely and well equiped Holiday home. It's a quiet and relaxing place to stay. Owners are hospitable, we got a warm welcome and fruit from their lovely garden. We recommend this place to everyone!

“Idyllic hideaway, relaxing, great base for exploring area, perfect.”
Reviewed 26 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

A very friendly welcome, Rod is very amiable, the cottage is private and spacious, a perfect bolthole to explore the area, and there is a lot to do! The property is very clean, well maintained, with a sustainable ethos that is admirable and evidenced in creative ways. A realaxing and insipring place to be.
We had wi-fi connection, though if problematic Rod offered us use of the main house. The bed is so comfy and surrounding area is quiet, you will need an alarm!
There are many walks in the area if you can get past the markets, fresh produce, brewery visits (recommend Theakstons over Black Sheep, though both ales are great!) the great food, caves, cheese, the local pub in Well is fab, overall we wish we stayed longer and would definitely return to this freshly painted establishment!

“A great place to hideaway”
Reviewed 24 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

My wife and I stayed for two nights for the Masham Steamfair . The accomodation was surprisingly spacious , very clean and equipped with everything we needed .
Well is just a short drive from both Bedale and Masham and made a great base for visiting both places , combine this with an excellent local pub and this made a great base .
