The cottage is within a matter of feet from the harbour so sitting in the lounge the views are gorgeous, watching the fishing boats come in and out and the tide ebb and flow.
My husband uses a wheelchair mostly (can walk a little) and although the property is not advertised as wheelchair friendly, once inside, the lounge was accessible once we moved the couches back. Due to the larger size of my husbands wheelchair it would only go so far up the corridor, ie just before the bedroom to the front of the cottage so had to walk the few steps to the bathroom and into the bedroom which we managed (heh you learn to adapt when in a wheelchair situation).
The facilities were lovely inside, roll-top bath, old fashioned furniture in the bedrooms, comfortable window seat which I sat in every day and wrote in my journal, the décor was very appropriate for the location of the home, we tried lighting the fire which was really nice.... It would be great being here in the autumn / winter and having the roaring fire on the go.
A note of caution we had no mobile signal in the cottage and there is no Wi-Fi (this is advertised though) so we knew in advance this would be the case. I would recommend installing Wi-Fi as it would give the owner a wider audience to advertise to.
The pub around the corner the Anchor Inn is lovely, fresh seafood every day and reasonable prices, staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely go back even with the minor issues with the wheelchair
arrived in angus telephoned the contact to be told the property was not cleaned , major breakdown in communication the contact had not been informed of our arrival for the week's
stay, so she had to make up the beds while we waited to settle in , where does the problem lie , letting agent , property owner total lack of communication it was booked in 2015
I had to repair one of the beds , tied it with string should have been spotted , or reported
to the agent or owner we stayed in the property in 2011 , that's why I said it needs freshening up the owner has not yet returned the £50 security todays date 10/08/16
