My girlfriend and I have just got back from a short stay in the domes at Away From It All and we were both blown away.
We arrived early (as we were only staying one night the owners kindly let us check in early- they were most accommodating) and we were greeted with a warm smile and a hamper full of local goods. We were given a quick tour of the facilities and shown to our dome. The dome itself was clean and spacious and very conducive to a romantic stay. We toasted marshmallows on the fire pit that night and enjoyed the clear star strewn night.
The next morning we were awoken by the sun to the sound of the babbling river and bird song. We enjoyed a breakfast of the complimentary, local sourced (and absolutely gorgeous) sausages cooked on the BBQ.
Overall we had a great trip, a very romantic experience and many very happy memories were made. Thank you!!

Despite the diabolical weather, still had a lovely weekend.

All children (3 of them, aged 4-12) greatly enjoyed larking about in the muddy puddles, collecting eggs petting goats and playing Pooh Sticks in the lively stream that runs through the area.

This was a family affair, and despite the fairly Baltic conditions and despite at least two reluctant campers all from the ages of 4 to 64 loved the experience.

Well done to Pryderi, Bethan, Whiskers, Billy & Bob (the last three being the goats) who provide a relaxed, easygoing environment in which to enjoy their beautiful country, whatever the weather.

The Away from it All experience was a mainly good one however I would like to mention just a few things that would have made it a better experience:
We arrived late (around 8pm) on a Friday night and although was given a lovely hamper on our arrival, was just pointed to our camping dome and given a few instructions on how to get there. I guess in normal circumstances this would have been fine, however as we were staying in the furthest away dome with a dog and 3 year old and plenty of baggage/food, we had a trek getting all of our stuff to the dome before getting dark (in the muddy wet terrain). To make things worse the handle from the wheelbarrow fell off and all of our stuff ended up in a heap in the mud! It would have been really nice if the owners would have helped us with our gear to the dome (we have experienced this hospitality at another glamping tipi site and just adds a warmer personal touch).
The compost toilet should have had a solar light but it was nowhere to be seen.
There was mould on the outside of the camping dome and small drip that came into the dome by the wood burning stove when it rained.
We had to ask for more tea light candles.
It could cater better for the family market if it had a few games for rainy days in the dome
Apart from this, it was a lovely place to stay. Beautifully decorated inside the dome with a fantastic wooden bed, tea light candles and lanterns. The communal kitchen was clean as were the toilets and showers. Situated well to explore Nefyn (just round the corner) to go the beach with the pub on it!

Hi,
thanks for the message and for the useful tips.

We'll now offer to help everyone with their luggage and the handle on that wheelbarrow will be fixed! The cable for the solar light in the compost loo was eaten by a sheep over the winter and I'm yet to replace it - we'll certainly do this asap!

The wood burners have just been re-installed for 2014 and we've been unable to test the installation in a downpour like we had over the weekend, we'll find where the rain comes in and fix it. We can't find the mould on the outside but we'll take another look tomorrow.

We don't provide tea lights and don't say that we do, however having thought about it we should provide extra ones. We're going to include a handful in the welcome hamper from now on.

Games - we'll stock up and store them in the kitchen.

Thanks again for your review, we hope to see you again when the Sun comes out next time!

Pryderi & Bethan.

Wow what can I say, perfect. Stayed with my partner who HATES camping and cold. I booked this as it's not camping it's glamping and it has a bed and a fire. Within minutes of arriving I could breathe again as he loved it. I had managed to keep it a secret for a while. We also had my 13 year old son with us. We soon had a BBQ going and when it started to get dark we lit the fire inside the dome. It was so cosy. Both Beth and Pryderi are perfect hosts, we had a brilliant tour of the facilities and all questions were answered. They gave us a lovely welcome hamper with delicious local produce in. We are going to book again very soon.

From the minute we arrived and were greeted by the friendly host Pryderi and our lovely welcome hamper of welsh goodies we were very impressed. Our dome Eifi was the first of three and the closest to the shower & kitchen block. This was ideal for us and our 6 year old daughter..she loved checking the chickens to see if there were any fresh eggs for breakfast. Her patience paid off and she collected three eggs for breakfast! The Dome was well equipped and very comfortable. The other two domes are more secluded along a stream lined path where your belongings are wheeled in a handy wheel barrow from the car park. The kitchen area & showers are clean, and there is plenty of cutlery, crockery etc to make cooking easy. My only teeny tiny criticism would be the one fridge is very small for three domes so don't arrive with a weeks worth of food shopping but there are handy cool boxes and ice packs supplied which we utilized. A BBQ is supplied, charcoal was easily sourced from nearby petrol station and fire wood is provided (first bag free then £2.50 in the honesty box thereafter) It was brilliant having our own fire pit which we took full advantage of every night as it can get cold. The wood burning stove inside the dome is cosy and a welcome addition too. Pryderi and his staff were so helpful and friendly and gave us some great recommendations for walks etc. We discovered Towyn beach which is beautiful and we also walked up the hill behind the domes. The views were amazing on a sunny day. We often visit the Llyn Peninsula and this has jumped to our favorite place to stay. Our daughter said at the end of each of our 3 night stay "this has been the best day of my life" Praise indeed! Thank you all for making our stay so relaxing and ideal. We shall be back soon!

We called up last weekend to see if we could stay for two nights for our forthcoming wedding anniversary. They had a slot free and we agreed a price for the two nights, we were so excited. We packed the car and the kids up and took ourselves up to Pwllheli. We were slightly early but that wasn't a problem and was told to make ourselves comfortable in our dome after being showed around the kitchen and where to find the logs for our fire.
We found a curtain for the dome window, it didn't quite fit but we used a blanket too to help (isn't it all about the making do and having fun?) We drove to the local supermarket and got some bit to eat and make our stay a bit easier. After dinner and a brew the kids eventually settled down as we drunk wine and stoked to fire!
The next morning we woke to the sunshine and the chucks clucking to let us know they had laid their eggs. They were yummy and any scraps went over to the pigs. Me and my youngest went on a walk by the babbling stream and made friends with the cutest pussy cat!
The kitchen was loaded with cups, plates and cutlery. We were given a welcome pack in the kitchen full of Welsh cakes, milk, sausages and locally made crisps. There are lovely walks around here and you are situated perfectly for long sunny days on the Abersoch beaches!
All in all yes we will be back! This places works well for both couples and families. Try it you will love it!

Room Tip: If you have young children ask for the dome nearest the kitchen, it will make your life easier!

We recently hired all the domes out and stayed for my birthday , the domes were amazing and different to what we had ever stayed in for what made it exiting , we were greeted with a hamper and Bethan the owner and she was lovely then she just left us to it all weekend . It was defiantly a weekend to remember I enjoyed every minute for getting chicken eggs to failing to light a BBQ. thankyou for my stay at away from it all
