“Beautiful place to stay”

Had a very relaxing 4 night stay here. We stayed in the far pod which is a little walk to the car, kitchen and toilets but very private and peaceful. Came away feeling fully relaxed and loved our stay . Lots of things to do including lovely beaches within a short drive. Would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here 16 th May 2014 for two wonderful nights but wished we could have stayed longer. The owners were very helpful even though we arrived late. The shower and kitchen block was cleanand stocked up with evrything you might need . We stayed in the ceri dome , the middle one of three. It was a short walk from the shower block next to the river.. Felt very private. Very spacious inside. The domes easily warm up with the log burner inside and barbeque and wood burner outside. The surounding area for walks and nearby towns and beaches makes this a wonderful getaway

Arrived for a one night stay to join our family who had arrived the night before... Directions to the site were clear and easy to follow and hard standing car parking is easy to find.
We stayed in the middle of the 3 domes and loved it's location next to the babbling stream (which came in handy for chilling beers and wine Bear Grylls style!
The dome is well equipped and BBQ and fire pit outside are a treat to use for a relaxing evening by the stream.
There's a clean and tidy shower area with 2 showers and 1 toilet and a decent sized kitchen with standard size fridge and 3 individual camping stoves, one for each dome to use.
Collecting fresh eggs from the resident chickens and chasing the goats as they are clearly trainee escape artists provided excellent entertainment!
Only negatives would be that the mattress on the bed was probably the worst I'd ever felt - thank goodness I was sleeping on the futon as the springs would have left bruises on me I'm sure!! A definite requirement for a mattress topper!!!
Also, there was no loo roll in the toilet for most of one day - perhaps a cupboard with spares in would be a good idea?
Finally, our camping stove ran out of gas and they said they couldn't get any more until Tuesday and to use one of the other 3. No problem. Except one of those ran out too so we were all trying to share 1 small 2 ring camping stove... perhaps it would be a good idea to keep a couple of spare gas canisters so this doesn't happen in future?
And a clean tea towel and dishwashing cloth per dome please... by the end of 2 days the one that was provided was absolutely filthy!!!
Overall a great stay in a lovely little spot next to the stream.

My girlfriend and I have just got back from a short stay in the domes at Away From It All and we were both blown away.
We arrived early (as we were only staying one night the owners kindly let us check in early- they were most accommodating) and we were greeted with a warm smile and a hamper full of local goods. We were given a quick tour of the facilities and shown to our dome. The dome itself was clean and spacious and very conducive to a romantic stay. We toasted marshmallows on the fire pit that night and enjoyed the clear star strewn night.
The next morning we were awoken by the sun to the sound of the babbling river and bird song. We enjoyed a breakfast of the complimentary, local sourced (and absolutely gorgeous) sausages cooked on the BBQ.
Overall we had a great trip, a very romantic experience and many very happy memories were made. Thank you!!

Despite the diabolical weather, still had a lovely weekend.

All children (3 of them, aged 4-12) greatly enjoyed larking about in the muddy puddles, collecting eggs petting goats and playing Pooh Sticks in the lively stream that runs through the area.

This was a family affair, and despite the fairly Baltic conditions and despite at least two reluctant campers all from the ages of 4 to 64 loved the experience.

Well done to Pryderi, Bethan, Whiskers, Billy & Bob (the last three being the goats) who provide a relaxed, easygoing environment in which to enjoy their beautiful country, whatever the weather.

The Away from it All experience was a mainly good one however I would like to mention just a few things that would have made it a better experience:
We arrived late (around 8pm) on a Friday night and although was given a lovely hamper on our arrival, was just pointed to our camping dome and given a few instructions on how to get there. I guess in normal circumstances this would have been fine, however as we were staying in the furthest away dome with a dog and 3 year old and plenty of baggage/food, we had a trek getting all of our stuff to the dome before getting dark (in the muddy wet terrain). To make things worse the handle from the wheelbarrow fell off and all of our stuff ended up in a heap in the mud! It would have been really nice if the owners would have helped us with our gear to the dome (we have experienced this hospitality at another glamping tipi site and just adds a warmer personal touch).
The compost toilet should have had a solar light but it was nowhere to be seen.
There was mould on the outside of the camping dome and small drip that came into the dome by the wood burning stove when it rained.
We had to ask for more tea light candles.
It could cater better for the family market if it had a few games for rainy days in the dome
Apart from this, it was a lovely place to stay. Beautifully decorated inside the dome with a fantastic wooden bed, tea light candles and lanterns. The communal kitchen was clean as were the toilets and showers. Situated well to explore Nefyn (just round the corner) to go the beach with the pub on it!

Hi,
thanks for the message and for the useful tips.

We'll now offer to help everyone with their luggage and the handle on that wheelbarrow will be fixed! The cable for the solar light in the compost loo was eaten by a sheep over the winter and I'm yet to replace it - we'll certainly do this asap!

The wood burners have just been re-installed for 2014 and we've been unable to test the installation in a downpour like we had over the weekend, we'll find where the rain comes in and fix it. We can't find the mould on the outside but we'll take another look tomorrow.

We don't provide tea lights and don't say that we do, however having thought about it we should provide extra ones. We're going to include a handful in the welcome hamper from now on.

Games - we'll stock up and store them in the kitchen.

Thanks again for your review, we hope to see you again when the Sun comes out next time!

Pryderi & Bethan.
