“Good Value”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

We arrived 4 Feb and were very excited about the amount of snow, so knew the skiing was good. I had read some negative reviews about Panorama AFTER we had booked. Have to say, they must have been staying at a different hotel to us. The one bedroom apartment was clean bright and airy. The TV was awful, but then you cant have everything. The transport to the gondola was punctual and frequent. My only criticism was the internet was only available in the lobby. Local restaurants were excellent value and ski packages were very inexpensive.
All in all great value for a ski holiday and under half the cost of France or Switzerland.

I arrived with 2 children and was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel even with the bad weather conditions this year . The staff were also friendly and very helpfull all through our stay . The spa area was impessive and finished to a very good standard . We stayed in a 1 bed apartment which was more than adequate for the 3 of us to have a comfortable stay.
With all of the above Panorama made a good base from which to have a great holiday.
Looking back through previous reviews and finding out that this only the 2nd year that Paanorama has been open they seem to be improving and going in the right direction and I would definitly stay again.

I booked our family holiday at Panorama prior to Christmas, before I had read the reports on Trip Advisor. Hence, was slightly nervous about what we would find upon arrival......

However, our fears were completely unfounded, and we had a thoroughly great holiday at Panorama & Bansko.

We arrived early on a Friday morning around 2am. Reception was open and expecting us – they provided the room key straight away and let us check in the next morning; appreciated with 2 young and tired kids.

The room was clean and well equipped – although we did need to ask for a bottle opener and extra duvet. We had a problem with one of the balcony doors not fitting tight and letting in cold air, but this was fixed immediately when we informed reception the next day, and didn’t cause a problem for the rest of the week. If you get on the far side of the hotel, the views are tremendous over the Pirin mountains and Bansko.

The Spa and Swimming pool were excellent - the water in the pool was kept at a warm 30 degrees, which was good for the kids. The changing rooms and pool area were kept very clean despite the popularity with guests - much cleaner that the local pool in the UK! We had to pay for the use of a Robe whilst at the hotel, but this was just 5 lev (£2) for the entire duration of our stay – not a problem. The games room was popular with the kids; didn’t use any of the other spa facilities or gym.

The bar area was always busy but relaxed, with a good mix of tourists – seemed to be mainly families and young couples from UK, Greece & Romania. A good friendly atmosphere – however, sometimes rather smoky. Unfortunately the bar shuts at 10pm – however, keeps the place quieter at night and there’s always plenty going on in town for those that want a late one.

Staff – always willing to help, and very warm and friendly with the children. There is a slight language barrier though, and you need patience to help them to understand what it is you’re after. The cleaners were particularly good, and flexible with our irregular coming and goings.

Transport to and from the hotel – if you’re looking to use the hotel mini bus service to the Gondola it can be busy (we were staying during school half term though, so it might not be so busy at other times). We found it less stressful with the kids to use taxis. If you ask Reception to call one, it’ll take 5 mins to arrive, and cost between 5 and 8 lev to the Gondola depending upon your driver – insist he uses the meter and it will be cheaper.

The hotel mini market wasn’t particularly well stocked – we found it better to go to the super markets in town for our main shop, and next door to the Riliski hotel (which was better stocked) for emergency items. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, although it seemed popular with the Greek and Romanian tourists.

All in all, we would thoroughly recommend the Panorama in terms of value for money. Don’t expect 4 star accommodation and service to UK standards; but do expect excellent value for money in a clean and efficiently run hotel with an excellent pool!

Room Tip: rooms on the opposite side to the entrance to the hotel have the better views

Some rooms are more comfortable then others. So if you do not like your room try to change it with another. It is a good accommodation for skying holidays. I can recommend this hotel primarily for skying.

Panorama resort is promoted as a 4 star hotel. It may be 4 star out of 10 :). However it is clean. They have different types of rooms and apartments. I got a studio that was very spacious and quite ok. No safe in the room, 3 leva for the flipflops, remote on the tv did not work (only bulgarian tv). Staff is not very friendly, breakfast was very bad from my point of view, but i saw other tourists enjoying it. They had a lot of stuff but did not look appetizing.
They provide a shuttle to the ski gondola.
SPA was ...there. Jaccuzzi was freezing water, however they had it there.
You need a couple of days to make your way to the room. Connection between resort wings is more like a labyrinth.
Conclusion: fair value for the money paid!

Room Tip: try a studio or an appartment. The double rooms seem very small.

I was in Bansko for 5 days,a verry nice place with verry good ski traks and conditions.I spent my noghts at this hotel.First off all this hotel is like a mase. You need a map to know were's your room(stupid arhitectural logic). The room were I stayed was verry nice(i had als two singles bed united).Big room with fridge. The heater is verry anoing.Hotel staff - speak a little bit of eanglish.
The restaurant is a place were you can stay and drink only a Capuccino(the best thing there), the food is not good but you can eat something.
They have a nice pool,jacuzzi,turkish bath,steam bath.
Summarizing this hotel is not a 4 star hotel for sure.

I recomand you a splendid place were you cand eat verry good and also verry good food:Queens PUB
