Welcoming and very helpful owners - Danny & Ivo - they ensure that your stay is comfortable and pleasurable. This family friendly hotel offers everything that a family with children on a skiing holiday needs. I would also recommend dining at the restaurant as the kitchen will cater as well for children as for adults. With ivo behind the bar you will enjoy cocktails or a quiet drink while children would have a hot chocolate and will ask for more.

Ida hotel was the best choice we have made for our ski holiday. We found it on the web and the manager Danny was very helpful,he was even waiting for us at the airport and brought us with a minivan(we were 5 girl-friends traveling together)to the hotel. The trip was about 3 hours and as soon as we arrived Bebe(the barmaid)gave us a meter of free shots(12 shots, and free just to make us feel welcome:)The rooms were lovely and clean, the hotel is situated 5 min away from the gondola but to be honest we went skiing only twice for a week,as we just could not go out of the bar.We have done so much karaoke, had amazing cocktails and the food was excellent as well and much cheaper than everywhere else we have been in Bansko.Every night there are also promotions and happy hour!!!!Everyone is Ida is so friendly and helpful,we had the best fun in the bar-drinking,dancing and singing with Bebe, she is an amazing and so weird:)exactly our kind of person:)she got us drunk all the time but was so much fun!Amazing week, amazing people, amazing place to stay!!!

Hotel Ida was a fantastic place to stay. We stayed with two children and Danny and his brother Ivo were both fantastic. Bebe the barmaid was brilliant too. We had the best week and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

lovely 15 room family run hotel. The staff there made the experiance, (go see Danni the barman/owner)
the hotel is clean, freindly and about 7 minute walk from the gondala. The food there is also better than most restaurants and in generall made Bansko a better experiance off the slopes.

Stayed here via DirectSki for a week sking in Feb. A few minutes walk to the gondola; friendly bar; warm spacious room; sauna and swimming pool which are great to prevent aching muscles. However the biggest surprize was the food, which we only tried on our last night. It is such a small hotel, it didn't occur to us to eat there which was our loss. Try the smoked chicken!

We stayed at the Ida last Christmas, and have booked to go back there this year.
For a three star hotel it is excellent value with good facilities, and spacious, warm rooms. We really were not expecting such good quality and were pleasantly suprised. We even had a balcony with lovely mountian views as well. The guys who ran it were helpful and friendly, even managing to resurrect our Chrismas dinner an hour late after our ski rep forgot to tell us that Christmas dinner was included!

Its not too far from the Gondola lift - about a ten minute walk in ski boots, and also not far into the centre of Bansko, and conveniently just around the corner from Galahads Pub.

We booked our week long stay at the Hotel Ida via DirectSki.com.
The hotel is a charming 3-star, low-rise property run by two brothers; Ivo and Dani. We opted for the half-baord basis and we we were not disappointed. Although breakfast was a bit on the basic side (cereal, bread, cheese and cold meats) dinner was great. Even though two in our group were vegetarians, we enjoyed a different 3-course Bulgarian menu everynight.
The staff in the hotel were always of a smiley disposition and could not do enough to make us feel at home.
One of the plus points of this hotel is the indoor heated swimming pool and sauna. A great way to relax after a day on the slopes! The bedrooms were bright and airy and furnished in a contemporary style; dark wooden floors, bedside tables, desk, wardrobes and coffee table. My only fault with the beds were the pillows which were of the dense foam variety and left you with a stiff neck in the morning.
Another observation is that the hotel is situated in an up and coming area of Bansko; as a result it feels like you're in the middle of a building site as there are new apartments and hotels being built in the vicinity. However, the impact is minimalas the work takes place when you're on the slopes.
There are a good selection of bars and restaurants in the area; particular favourites are Sir Galahad, The Lions Pub and the Friendly Pub. Also worth mentioning is the Happy End apres ski bar/restaurant which is located opposite the gondola station. It's slighltly more expensive than the other bars but the ambience is good (although the music can be a little too loud sometimes).
All in all, the trip was definitely value for money. For a little over £500 per person we got flights, transfers, half-board, snowboard & boot hire, 3 day snowboarding tuition and a week ski-lift pass. Add to that an exchange rate of 2.63 Lev to the pound and you're laughing. A highly recommended Ski operator and hotel. Congratulations!
