We have booked rooms for a group of 20 friends from Israel without big expectations, since we are used to have our ski/snowboard vocation in Austria/Italy/France....we found out a high quality hotel with very good atmosphere, professional and friendly service, nice team of people with a smile on their face. Hotel is located about 5 minutes walking from the Gondola, very good breakfast with all sorts of food and bevarages, room cleaning is very good. and nightlife in the old city is only 3 minutes walking...simply perfect....we will be back again for sure.

Room Tip: Any room type is value for money in this hotel...rooms are big and comfortable.

Dear future guests of Guinness Hotel in Bansko, Overall impression of hotel is best of the best. I've been working, living and visiting some 30 hotels in the USA, UK and UAE but this one brakes it all. Guinness provides it all that you need and beyond that. Staff is professional, joyful and full of positive energy. Managers, restaurant staff and hostman will make your stay easy going and that's all we need during vacation. Rooms are fantastic, loby is nice spacious and relaxing and buffe is fresh and with variety of food starting with soups and ending with fruit and sweets. My choice for winter of 2014 will be Guinness again. Enjoy your stay in there!

The good thing of this hotel is large room. We were with 3 kids, and it was spacefull.
It's clean hotel, suff was helpful.

The pool was too cold for me and also for kids. I was 5 times in Bansko, and this hotel has the worst pool of all hotels we've been.

Food was good. Not exellent, not average, just good.

But the biggest disappointment was PARKING. There is one parking just behind hotel that was always full. The other parking is across the street. Both of them are in the MUD. So when you find place to park you need fishing boots to come to hotel! Not to mention how it looked like with stroller for the baby!!
We could pay for garage but car with Thule is to high for garage!

Staff: Excellent! Reception staff, very helpful, good language skills.
Restaurant and bar Staff: the best in the hotel. From F&B manager to waiters and waitress', all of them are very kind, always smiling, very helpful. The service that they provide is the best I've seen so far. if i could rate them with 10 stars, i would do it. They are the best the hotel has to offer.
Food: excellent! They never run out of food; dinner and breakfast are full of variety of different foods, mostly of balkan cuisine.
Atmosphere: Very relaxing, easy to enjoy. The fireplace in the middle of the hotel gives perfect feeling that you are like at home. the hotel has the fireplace (burning of woods) smell. Also, the ceiling (which is of glass) gives you perfect daylight during the day.
Animation: There are karaoke nights and other types of parties organized in the loby of the hotel.
Apartment: we stayed on the first floor in a 2+2 apt - warm, clean, in very good condition, with every day room service.
Location: 10minutes the most by foot to the gondola.
WiFi - free is usually full of users and therefore really slow, the one you pay (not really expensive) is excellent.

all in all. We are really looking forward to come to Guinness next year as well.

Special greetings to the whole restaurant and bar crew :)

Filip from Serbia

They really don't care about service at this hotel...we are a party of 2 adults and 3 kids. We have stayed in Bansko before at Lucky Bansko which was great but now too expensive for us as a family. We considered b and b but I am so glad we didn"t because it is impossible to us the kitchen we have in the accommodation. We are half board and wanted the freedom to make our own lunch and hot drinks first and last thing every day...but that is impossible. Why you may ask? Because my friends, you are NOT permitted and crockery, pans or cutlery!!! Why was I then sold a room with the kitchenette?? We were told to get some cups from the restaurant but they refused...I tried the bar and the guy got shirty and accused us of trying to steal his wages and starve his child by wanting to have cups! (We had been given a kettle bizarrely?). The reception staff initially seemed to support us on a hunt for cups and then changed their mind but said we could have plastic ones....I ended up saying I would just take cups in the morning from the breakfast room, which I have. The first night we arrived at 11pm having had no proper food since breakfast and the meal offered was a cold platter and not nice - pictures to follow. Our room had someone else's food in the cupboards and stuff behind the beds. The only place I can get free wifi is within 4 metres of the reception desk - probably a ploy to get you to buy their package. The pool is cold...al in all WE WILL NOT BE BACK just a shame we still have 5 days here!!

I stayed in the Guiness hotel this January with some friends. Upon entering the hotel i was wowed by the impressive interior architecture. While checking in, the reception staff were very attentive and friendly, and the bellboy extremely helpful. I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which i was very impressed with, it was very spacious, clean and cosy. I enjoyed taking full advantage of the fluffy dressing gown and slippers which were provided. My board basis was Half board, so breakfast and dinner was included in the price we paid, considering i have heard bad reviews about Bulgaria food i was pleasantly surprised at how nice the food in the hotel was. No empty bellies all week in our party! The Neilson rep 'Shiv' would come by the ski depot and hotel everyday to see how our holiday was going, i was very impressed with her friendly & helpful service all week and how she was willing to go out of her way to make our holiday extra special, as one lady in our party had a birthday, Shiv arranged a bottle of wine and birthday cake which we thought was such a nice touch.

The resort itself is fantastic, plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, amazing shopping and lots of things to do after your day on the mountain, myself and a few of our party opted to go on the Snowmobiles which i have to say was amazing, a real once in a life time experience.

So to sum up i had an amazing time in Bansko and will definitely be back to stay at hotel Guiness next year.

The Guinness rooms are all built around a huge impressive central atrium. Whilst this looks nice it means you are able to hear a pin drop in the hotel whilst lying in bed. The bar and activities are based in the central plan atrium, they do turn the music off at midnight but then people arriving after après ski will again wake you ! We moved rooms 3 times and ended up on the 5th floor, it wasn't much better and left us smelling of smoke from the atrium log fire.

The location is good though, only a 7minute walk to the Gondola.

Treatments at the spa are very good and worth a try, yes the pool is cold but its refreshing. No jacuzzi or gym.

Wifi isn't really useable either.

Food is very hit and miss, although with the fantastic food available for good prices in Bansko town we would recommend staying B&B wherever you choose.

We loved the skiing and will be back, just not to the noisy Guinness.

Hope this helps.
