Was a good hotel, the bus to the gondola was really easy to catch, i think they ran the mini bus every 15 minutes but I cant remember exactly. it took about 5-10mins to get to the gondola which was nothing.

The hotel was nice, there was some wear and tear here and there but nothing majorly bad to interrupt stay.

POOL AREA: (Please consider that I have been a lifeguard for 2 years and did my fair share of maintaining pools, spas, saunas and steam rooms so please believe my honest opinion)

Pool wasn't huge, about 10m in length, you could easily stand up in it, and swim a few lengths, it was fine for dipping in and was pretty clean. In terms of safety they had little bits here and there like staff occasionally walking through for water tests and just doing general checks which I liked to see. The changing rooms were pretty exposed but pretty funny in terms of taking wet clothing off cause you had to struggle keeping the towel up but my sense of humour got me through that. They did like to leave the changing room doors open, I think one lad even mis-takenly went to walk through the ladies changing room but luckily see nothing! The changing rooms were alright, they weren't huge but had shower and toilet, I actually ended up getting changed in the toilet just because there was chance of some random guy seeing me get changed which I personally didn't like. The jacuzzi was really big! was lovely and warm, nice and bubbly when switched on too. Really nice after a long day on the slopes. The sauna and steam room was lovely too, they were all clean facilities, the only down side really was the changing room doors always being left open.

The rooms were really nice, bathroom, kitchen everything!

Its a decent hotel for what you pay for, and I would recommend this hotel over the Belmont hotel any day, the Grand Montana saved me and my friend from having a terrible stay in the Belmont hotel.

Staff were always smiling and happy, always greeted you when walking past them.

The only poor thing was the breakfast but it sounds like most of the hotels are getting poor reviews on breakfast. It wasn't terrible the breakfast, it was alright to eat and was ok in terms of freshness. The fruit was fresh which was absolutely fine, but the other things were a little low standard but again, me and my friend ate it and we just got on with it, it weren't horrible but ok.

After loads of struggle, we managed a four days visit to this place. Even though I have been to Bulgaria city on several occasions, but this time it was just for relaxation and good that I opted for Grand Montana. Starting from check in to check-out, everything went very smooth. Staff is very co-operative and great at their work. The food, from breakfast to dinner was fresh and tasty, offering a great variety. Rooms were very neat and clean. I will definitely come here soon !!!!!

Stayed there about a week. It is a nice hotel, with big clean apartments. This is not a 4* Hotel for sure, but one of 3*! I can't complain about it but you have to not expect of much! The pool is cold and small, but the sauna was good. The staff was ok and nice. A big minus is the brekfast because is exactly the same every morning. And when you stay for 1 week is to much! Traveled by car and they have a small parking lot. A big plus is the shuttle bus to and back from the gondola. Is a 10-15 min walk but with heavy equipment the shuttle is great! Nothing to spectacular but is ok!

Good value for money, stayed in a studio apartment which was fully furnished (Never ate due to the price of eating out). Room was spacious and the bed was sometimes too comfortable (after a heavy night out). Location is excellent, 5 minute walk from the bars and 6/7mins to the gondola.

Only managed to make it to breakfast once, similar to other alpine resorts although there is more choice then I have had in the past. The Jacuzzi was disappointingly cold and was used more as a plunge pool than a traditional jacuzzi.

Overall, for the price we paid, I can not knock this hotel

On the plus side the only thing I can mention is the size of the rooms, which were decent.

On the minus side :

At best a 3 star hotel. Breakfast was very poor, not even at 2 star standard, and was exactly the same for 7 morning in a row. The pool and jacuzzi were freezing cold, the hot water in the shower was for 3 out of the 7 days worm at best, there are cracks in the wall and at night the temperature in the rooms drops significantly.
We had an argument with the restaurant staff when we tried to live with one (1) orange , saying that we are not allowed to take anything away , even if that meant 1 orange. It seams that they forgot that breakfast was included in the room cost , and at the end of the month the customers are the ones that pay their wages.
The staff from Sofia tried to help but unfortunately the people in Bansko did nothing to improve the stay and the conditions , except the fact that they cleaned the room daily (which is absolutely normal).

I would definitely not recommend this to anyone, considering that the price we paid for the room was rather high, as it was rated 4 stars.

This hotel is spotless, great steam room, the hottest I have ever been in, lovely sauna but small pool, the staff are lovely and the food is cheap but as per the other reviews its not nice food! We stayed in the Belmont next door and as such can use all facilities in the Grand Montana. We used it for breakfast as in is a 30 second walk and at £3 each so worth it for drinks alone - hot chocolate, coffee juice etc, but the food is bland and cold .. You can warm it up with the microwave they provide, it is hard to work though! Come on Grand Montana read the reviews - improve the food!
