The chalet is really close to the gondola lift (about 5 minutes walk) and Hristo helps you get your skis etc from a shop located 2 minutes walk from the lift. You can leave everything there overnight so it's easy to get from lift to the chalet. Hristo and his wife Elena are the most charming hosts and look after you all from the second you arrive - nothing is too much trouble. Elena cooks all the food and it is a real Bulgarian feast - we loved trying all the national dishes! They are there in the morning and in the late afternoon/evening but not residential in the chalet.
The chalet has plenty of space for everyone - there were 10 of us (2 families of 5).
Would highly recommend.
We were a party of 8 adults and stayed for a week. Ideal location close to shops and the ski station. Lovely walk to the old town as well. Hristo and his wife looked after us well and we had plenty of home cooked food.
Ideal for families as well as couples or groups.
The chalet was perfect for our group of 11 people. Near enough an ensuite per bedroom. Hristo is a fantastic host, he couldn't do enough to help us.
As there were quite a few fussy eaters in our group we thought we might struggle with the Bulgarian dishes, but the food went down well.
Can't emphasise enough how helpful Hristo was. Whatever we needed or asked of him he was more than happy to help.
As a destination I wouldn't say Bansko was one of my favourite places to be. As we were there to ski, that was all that really mattered, and the skiing was good so it didn't bother us much, but I wouldn't be rushing back.
All in all a fantastic trip and the chalet was excellent.
This was my first ski holiday but it won't be the last. I only hope that I manage to stay somewhere like this for future holidays. From the moment our party of 10 arrived, the host, Hristo, made us feel welcome and looked after. This man cannot do enough for you and really pulls out all the stops. The food was incredible and credit for that goes largely to Hristo's wife, Helena, who generally worked quietly in the background, appearing only to present us with the next incredible meal. Culinary highlights were the BBQ night, a beautiful rabbit dish and the Bulgarian themed meal. I will be dreaming about the Kapama for a long time! I should say the one vegetarian in our party was catered for extremely well and the meat eaters could be seen giving the occasional rueful glance as the vegetarian dishes were brought in.
The bedrooms were all very comfortable as far as I could see - I can certainly say the double bedroom on the first floor was lovely. The rest of the house was nice too - the dining room provided a good social area and the 'snug' with the wood burner was incredible after a day or evening out in the cold.
The sauna facility was much appreciated for unwinding after a day's skiing although I couldn't bring myself to plunge into the large deep bath for a cold dip!
If you need a place to stay in Bansko, you want to be near to the slopes and you love food (and if you are prepared to go to bed every night thinking you'll never be hungry again only to wake up and find that your fears were entirely unjustified) then I can't imagine there is any better place to stay.
Thank you Hristo and Helena for your hospitality and your company. It was a pleasure to meet you both and I may be back for some more of that Kapama!
I can't thank Hristo and his wife highly enough, they simply could not have been more helpful, communicative or caring. They bent over backwards to help us. The food was excellent, transfers easy and accommodation clean, comfortable, spacious and a minutes walk from the shops. This guy will make your holiday work
The place is very well located, just a few minutes walking from the lifts and the centre. The rooms are not very luxurious but are clean. There are many bathrooms and toilets, which is nice for a big group, however they are not very good and the warm water does not work very well in the bathrooms (it takes quite some time, even for eastern european standards). There is a nice sauna downstairs with a shower which does have good warm water.
The food was very nice, especially the dinner and the snack after skiing. The breakfast is a standard continental breakfast and I wouldn't have high hopes for it.
The host is very nice and welcoming. He showed us around Bansko and took care of our needs. Furthermore, he is a nice cook and his wife bakes very good cakes (you get them after skiing). The host is also quite flexible with arranging things (many other chalets which I searched only offered saturday-saturday).

This was our first visit to Georgi's House (and Bansko in general). Our stay there definitely leveled up our weekend trip... located only 200-300m from the Gondola lift (=no need for car/ parking), cosy and spatious (total of 12 ppl stayed over quite comfortably) with a nice backyard. All the above were topped with the landlord's unparalleled hospitality and openness which make this house my standard choice for my Bansko visits.
