I spent in Jordan 13 days in 4 different hotels and Cleopatra was the best.Lovely hotel, very clean, immaculate clean. They clean every day the room if you ask.Recently refurbished rooms with aircon ,new furniture and wi-fi for a fee(2JD).Some noise created by a big school in proximity
.I bought a three day ticket to Petra and I really enjoyed my time in this area.It is a little far from the gates of Petra but they have free shuttle every morning.Coming back it was very difficult in a hilly town after a long day in Petra.Plenty of taxis; 2JD for the entire taxi ride up(Do not pay more!)
Breakfast was simple with natural coffee, boiled eggs, humus. But you can buy fruits (0,5JD for a banana).
Moslef, the owner can arrange car service if you want to visit other sites in Jordan.I was gone to Wadi Rum by a car with the price of the bus (5 JD).He even held my bigger bag in storage until I returned and I took only a small one with me.I thought this was very nice of him.Do you need anything else to be sure about the safety of this place?
All in all I enjoyed my stay.I hope to stay again one day.

Room Tip: Choose to stay in a room without view but with aircon.

Away from the madness near Petra is this little gem. It may not have the facilities of the larger hotels but what it does have are staff who care and make you feel part of their family. They take you down to Petra in the morning whenever you want, provide wonderful home cooked meals and will help you in any way possible. It is close to the village centre where you can get supplies if you need anything. Thank you Mosleh and the rest of the family at the Cleopetra you made my holiday wonderful.

This is a great budget option if you're visiting Petra. Hotel staff were amazing and gave this hotel a great atmosphere, especially the owner who chatted to everyone and was really helpful with anything we needed including local information and tours (eg he can help organise desert tours in Wadi Rum). Excellent value for the price, especially considering how everything was very clean. Breakfast included, plus a free shuttle to Petra, and you can even ask the hotel to prepare you a packed lunch. They also do a very cheap and delicious dinner in the hotel. The decor and amenities are all very basic but if you want a good clean budget option this is the place! Would definitely recommend it.

The hotel may not be very close to Petra site, but they were giving you a free lift every morning, so the distance should not be a problem. Getting back is about 20 minutes walking or 2JD for a taxi. The positive point is that is very close to the village center, with restaurants and shops, and is located in a quite place.
Breakfast included and wifi internet is available for an extra 2JD for your whole stay, so it is not expensive if you are staying more than one night.
Good size bedroom and toilet, although it could benefit from some kind of soap.
I would stay there again.

Stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere created by the staff and fellow guests. Our room faced away from the town so we didnt have a view that would of been nice but the upside was it was fairly quiet. The room was small neat and clean, not necessarily a place you would want to sit in for hours but that's unlikely given all to see at Petra.
Breakfast is basic and ample, we ate dinner there one night and it was good and inexpensive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's easy to walk from the hotel down to town for food etc (5 - 10 min walk) but its a long hike to Petra entrance - best to get a lift from the staff or a taxi.

Nice clean rooms
Really friendly, helpful staff
Free lift to Petra in the morning and if you want they'll make you a packed lunch.
They also organised a trip for me with very short notice up the King's highway back to Amman.

This hotel is more a hostel than a real hotel.

Good points: the staff is quite cordial and helpful. Good location (a little bit far to walk to Petra site if you are not athletic), the price.

Bad points: the breakfast is basic, the rooms have no style, tiny bathroom
