Just spend a single night at Valley Stars but left with a very solid impression! The owner Ibrahim couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I'd really like to give this place 4.5 Stars because of the service and good pricing, but oh well Trip Advisor!

As others have said the rooms are basic. But it's a mid-range Jordanian hotel and provides fair value for the money. My room was immaculately cleaned and I was surprised to have the heat turned on for me the middle of the day. Other hotels in Jordan at this price point are much skimpier so that was a plus! Ibrahim takes people 2x a day (730 and mid morning) and picks up 2x a day from the Petra entrace. It is technically walkable in 20-30 minutes, but not adisable as you'll be doing MAJOR walking the Petra park. But if you're motivated, walk TO the park as it is downhill. I missed my pickup and felt badly, but Ibrahahim was very gracious about it.

Ibraham gave very helpfu advise about the park and restaurants and booked me a taxi to the Aqaba airport with apparantly no markup--better price than I would have gotten on the street and the driver was outstanding. When I found that I'd been sold the wrong stamps he offered to get stamps for the rest. I was a few JD short and he covered it. At the Ritz maybe I'd expect this, but he offered and made no fuss about it.

I met several, well traveled people at the hotel and went to dinner found the company most pleasant.

Location isn't super close to the park, but decent restaurans and shops are walkable.

Tips with Valley Stars:

1. Be sure to have Ibrahim book the bus to Wadi Rum if you're doing it or have him arrange taxi if needed. He's very helpful and seems to charge little for the effort.

2. Take the ride to the park! You'll thank them at the end of the day. Petra means walking!

Room Tip: Very minor noise off the road in front of the building during day. Dead quiet at night. So room loc...

Valley Stars doesn't pretend to be anything smart or sophisticated but it fitted our bill brilliantly (once we found it in the dark!). The room was quite basic (and i agree that the wiring probably left a bit to be desired - but in my experience that is pretty much the norm outside Europe) but everything was clean and though the water was distinctly tepid late at night it was very hot the next morning. The staff could not have been nicer or more welcoming with Ibrahim going out of his way to advise us on somewhere to stay the following night and using his own phone to book us in. Breakfast was delicious. All in all, I would certainly recommend it to anybody looking for good value accommodation in Wadi Musa.

My husband and I just got back from Petra last week. We stayed here for 1 night.
We were greeted with great hospitality by the owner. He was friendly, resourceful, and just made you feel at home. It felt like we were staying with friends and not checking into some cheap hotel.

The room itself was very basic. However, it was clean and comfortable. We were so tired from hiking Petra all day that we really did not need any amenities besides a comfy bed.

I would recommend this place for anyone going to Petra and I would definitely stay here again if we ever go back.

Initial impression was not good, the Valley Stars is rather tatty looking. We were given a very warm welcome by the owner followed by some excellent advice on an itinerary for our visit to Petra.
The room was however very basic and pretty poor quality. The wiring in the building was also pretty poor, in fact - scary.
Breakfast was good and all the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
All in all, we were unimpressed and find it hard to believe that it is rated so high on Trip Advisor.

From the moment I arrived at the hotel till I left I felt the kindness and helpfulness from the hotel staff. The hotel has a great atmosphere and we spend a lot of time in the lobby area talking to the very friendly manager Ibrahim and the other guests. The service was excellent and we could always get lots of useful information. The breakfast was good and there was a free shuttle bus to Petra everyday. I felt that the manager would do everything to make my stay great and rememberable.
I would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers. It is great value, VERY friendly and helpful staff and you feel very welcome.

Firstly we chose this hotel because it was so reasonably priced, as soon as we arrived the previous guest who were leaving we're telling how lovely and helpful the staff were, especially ibrahim, and they were so right.
From giving us info on best places to eat, and those to avoid, bringing us a DVD player to our room to going with us to find a place to get our tired pumped, Ibrahim went above and beyond to help us. All this as well as chatting politics and finding out really interesting facts about jordan, this place was amazing. Buffet breakfast was also good with nice choice and free tea and coffee available, once per day. Definitely give this place a try, Petra is amazing and staying in a welcoming relaxing place after all the walking makes it so much the better experience. Thanks ibrahim and mahmoud.
