rooms are basic and small, but clean, and the rates are reasonable (24 JD for a double room with private bathroom). Centrally located (entrance to petra ~ 15 minutes walking), therefore many shops and restaurants around, but it can also get a little bit noisy in the night because of traffic. The staff is extraordinarily nice and helpful. Laundry service and lunch bags available. All in all a very friendly and familiary atmosphere.

Stayed here for 2 nights in October. When we arrived, there was a mix up with the room booking but Gail quickly resolved this by giving us two single rooms and we were then offered a double room for the second night. Gail was very apologetic for the mix up and it wasn't a big deal.
It is a very welcoming hotel, I am surprised at some of the reviews saying the owner was a bit odd, I found both owners very polite and welcoming.
There were restrictions such as hot water at set times, etc but as long as you could stick to the rules and work around the timings, it is ok - afterall, the rate charged was so low I think it is a fair compromise.
Breakfast was good - basic but filling, and because we set up off so early, we were allowed to have breakfast earlier than usual which was fab.
Must agree with many of the reviews saying the hotel needs renovation but bearing in mind what you pay, I think it's again another compromise to be made.
Overall, very good value for money with good service thrown in.

Clean basic hotel.
Comparing notes with other travellers who have stayed here, one is not certain if the male owner's sense of humour is either bizarre or he is completely inappropriate and rude. Be warned about this.
Great directions and advice from knowledgeable staff. Good breakfast

The FRIENDLIEST owners Gail & Ibrahim made me welcome as soon as I walked through the door. (A welcome cuppa!). Clean rooms and everything you need - private bath, cable TV, free WiFi and helpful advice.

They booked a tour for us and made sure that the pickup was at an earlier time so we could see MORE for the same PRICE! (and a good price at that!)

If I come back to Petra (and who could resist I'll certainly be staying here!
