“Great Budget option for visit to Petra”
Reviewed 16 October 2013 via mobile

This hostel is a good option for backpackers and those on a strict budget. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although the shower was a bit of a squeeze. Staff were friendly and helpful and the price good as you get a decent breakfast each morning. It is a bit of a walk to the site of Petra but that is the same with all accommodation in the area. For those that go to wadi rum there is also a bus that picks you up each morning to.

Located just in the middle of town, next to a variety of coffee shops, restaurants and groceries. English speaking staff, very friendly in helpful. Comfortable lobby with guide books and free WiFi (not common in Jordan)/ Clean and comfortable rooms, hot water in shower. Great breakfast-which is included- and a cheap option for a packed lunch. (Food is very expensive in Petra itself) and a roof with an amazing view of the city- especially in sunset. all of this amazing stuff for a very cheap price make it the best pick in Wadi Musa.

Located close to the bus station, this hotel has small but clean rooms. The owner, Gail is such an agreeable and friendly person who always smiles and try to help. The free breakfast was nice, considering the cheap room price. However, it was noisy while i stayed there as wedding parties were held every night at nearby place. Another problem was the old shower which needs replacement.

Room Tip: Room 218 may be noisy at night.

This neat homely hotel is in Petra town midway between the Heritage site and the Main town of Petra. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the staff friendly and supportive. The terrace has a good view and a nice place to chill out in the evenings. Mostly young people frequent it I guess, but as a middle aged person i did not feel uncomfortable.
Going down to the treasury is downhill all the way but while returning it is uphill all the way; after walking a lot in the heritage site, it certainly is a task and requires a taxi.
The breakfast was wholesome. Wifi worked well. all in all a good stay thanks to Gail and Ibrahim, the owners of the hotel.

Although it was a bit far from Petra (15-20 mins walk or 2 JD cab ride) it's located right in the center of Wadi Musa which is close to all the restaurants and shops, and the bus station (not the JETT one, which is right next to the entrance of Petra). There is a convenience store right across the street from Saba'a.

It's been a year since we were there. If nothing has changed, it is owned by a cool and friendly couple. The hostess replied our emails quickly with good advice prior to our trip and the host helped us to book bus tickets and the Petra by night event (it is worth it to go by the way).

The room was basic but comfortable and big enough. The bathroom was a bit small but it didn't bother us especially it provided consistent hot water (it seemed like a common situation in Jordan and another Middle East country we've been to). Reliable wifi and breakfast was included. Simple but good enough to start your exciting day in Petra -- a truly beautiful and spectacular historical site that you should visit!

Saba’a is a lovely hotel run by an amiable and easygoing Brit. Regarding décor, amenities and service, Saba’a is probably the best Wadi Musa has to offer for the price. The hotel is a tier above budget accommodations while still being well within the budget price point.

To its advantage, Gail the proprietor is friendly, informative and myriad other wonderful adjectives. The location is in the heart of Wadi Musa, close to shops and restaurants. Transportation to Petra is not included, but the downhill walk is easy. The rooms, bathroom and shower are nicely appointed. The Wi-Fi was active (accessible in the lobby) while we were there. Breakfast was included in the room rate and is a step above over budget options.

The only disadvantage I can think of is that WiFi is not accessible in the rooms. But, this is a concern easily dismissed.

The bottom line: If you are a budget traveller (perfect for mid range as well), Saba’a is the best option for staying in Wadi Musa while exploring Petra.

P.S. It would behoove Lonely planet / Rough guides to review this hotel for its next edition.

One of the best deals in town for a budget couple. Loved the laid-back atmosphere, downstairs lounge, and roof terrace (awesome sunset view from here!) Decor has a whiff of crafty aunt's guest bedroom. Breakfast is a step above other budget options, with cold yogurt, dates, and the occasional pinch of zaatar augmenting the usual fare. Wifi only works in the downstairs lounge, but it's a comfortable and friendly place to hang out. Lonely Planet needs to get it's head out of it's posterior and write this place up!

Room Tip: Rooms at the ends of the hallways have more natural light.
