“A very good choice”
Reviewed 10 December 2011

I stayed at the Petra Moon Hotel from 24th to 27th November 2011. The accommodation was booked by Petra Moon Tourism Services, which, by the way, is a very reliable and highly recommended tour operator. The hotel is in close vicinity to the Petra site, just a few minutes walk. The hotel, to my pleasant surprise, is very modern, of contemporary design. Room is spotlessly clean, spacious, quiet and very comfortable. I had such a good sleep every night, replenishing my energy after each day's long walk in Petra! The buffet breakfast are all fresh ingredients. Service is highly efficient. I had a bit of problem of the overhead shower in the bathroom and the management had the problem fixed well before I returned to the hotel on the same day. Staff are all very friendly, Naiff and Raed would welcome you with a big smile every morning! One thing certainly you should not miss, the chef made excellent meals! Ask their staff about a dish of chicken with potato, tomato, onion and so - DELICIOUS!
Wifi service in the room can be a bit slow and weak but excellent on the ground floor.
Go to the roof (5th Floor) for a very nice view around, especially during sunset.
Will definitely stay here again when I come back!

Good hotel, really nice rooms and friendly helpful staff.Location couldn't be better only a couple of minutes walk from the entrance to Petra.
Great value as well.

Small gripe - some sort of generator close to the room on our first night kept turning itself on and off affected my sleep (but not my wifes), but the staff were very keen to sort it out if i heard it again.

I stayed at the Petra Moon Hotel at the end of Novemeber, whilst doing a little travelling in Jordan. I had pre booked my reservation online and so the reception were ready to great us on arrival.
The first impression of the hotel is good. After staying in a few rather grubby hostels the previous nights, walking into the Petra Moon seemed like a palace! We were shown straight to our room and very pleasantly surprised. Well decorated, modern and most importantly very clean. Plenty of space and the bathroom was more than adequate.
Breakfast was included and again, this was nice enough. Selection of cereals, fresh fruit, breads and other hot bits and pieces, there was plenty to chose from.
The location is also a plus. Situated at the bottom end of Wadi Musa, the hotel is just a few steps from the main gate into Petra.
All in all, a great little hotel with fairly good value for money. Amy complaints I would have, was that we struggled to get any connection or signal for the wifi. It was available in the lobby however. We did mention this to the duty manager on our departure and he said that something was already in place to sort the problem! If I was in Petra again, I would most defiantly return to the Petra Moon!

65JD a night , located right behind the Movenpick hotel. Staff extremely helpful, rooms very good. Great selection at breakfast. The hotel is only 3 minute walk from entrance to Petra which is just what you need.

Stayed at the Petra Moon Hotel in Wadi Musa for 1 night. The hotel is conveniently located 1 min. walk from the Petra Visitors Centre. The hotel is a family-run hotel and has just been renovated and hence all old reviews are irrelevant. This is a nice, well-maintained property and for the room tariff, it is pure value-for-money. I have attached a few pictures which i clicked during my stay. Small touches such as hair-dryer, shaving mirror, rain shower, etc. add an up-market feel to the hotel. The only thing missing was wall-to wall carpet, which becomes a necessity, in the cold winters. Met the owners during my stay and they are very conscious to the convenience of the guests and took personal interest in the management. I would surely stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms are newly renovated, so no need to choose a specific one. You may want to choose the front...

My friends and I all decided to write a review after visiting Petra Moon. It had so much more to offer than we had expected. The rooms are as in the photos, not doctored. The owner and staff all jovial and helpful. The situation is superb, but don't look out of the window as all you see is the ugly Movenpick! A small price to pay for a first-rate good value hotel. I don't understand some of the other reviews of this hotel, I think they are referring to somewhere else.

Room Tip: Away from the lift

We stayed at the Petra Moon hotel last week and we were absolutely delighted with our stay. The most important thing in Petra is getting up early and start wandering through the ancient city. With breakfast starting at six and a 2 minute walk to the entrance the conditions for a effective stay in Petra are there. But furthermore the beds were great, the breakfast was as good as it gets (freshly baked omelettes are a 5* feature I think), the staff was very friendly and very usefull. They are aware of the importance of tripadvisorreviews for their business but that reflects only in a very positive attitude. As said in an earlier review the elevator was a bit noisy, but I guess they will fix that. If not try to get a more distant room..

A long story short; a very pleasant stay for a very nice price, probably overall our best hotel in Jordan!
