Not quite sure if they were having an off night? Strange and slow service, two of the group ordered tikka dishes and the salad and sauce was forgotten then we appeared to be forgotten about and had to ask for the bill and no hot towels were offered despite other diners being offered them. Also freezing as front door wide open on a very cold night and when we closed it the staff opened it again!
Maybe just an off night but would be reluctant to re visit

Be careful when ordering a take away from this restaurant.

Firstly check that you are within 5 miles as they do not tell you that there is a charge at time of ordering. To my shock the driver and his mate demanded £2 for the delivery. When phoning the restaurant back up they confirmed this, although they did not say when ordering! Terrible!

Also the chicken we ordered was pink, my pregnant wife was unable to eat her dinner.

I would suggest Ali Spice in coltishall if you are looking for a take away!

But it doesn't have to be hot, of course, as you can always go for 'tasty'. But I go for hot, and their vindaloos always come up to expectation. As the same proprietor has been there for 17 years (I think), that in itself is a recommendation.

This is the third time we have visited this curry house and the welcome was just as warm, friendly and inviting as always. We started with poppadoms and pickles followed by a mixture of bhajis and samosas - all delicious. I had the vegetable thali which was great and my husband had the chicken pathia which he really enjoyed. Our 10 year old daughter requested a mild pea and potato curry which duly arrived. She loved it so much that she proclaimed that the Star had the "people who make the perfect curry!" High praise indeed! Seek this place out if you're in the area - it's well worth it.

On the Broads again in May, always make a bee line for the star of India. This time around there was 9 of us, Peter made us ( as always) very welcome and took time out for a chat. Cracking onion bahji`s followed up with a superb Jalfrezi and the wonderful draught Cobra. It looks nothing special from outside and probably never has , but if you are in Wroxham/Hoveton it is without a must do. Miss it and you will miss out. Thanks Peter, see you next year!!!
