after a lovely stroll around wroxham we decided to go here for our meal ,they advertised a carvery outside on a board and the prices was £5,95 which was reasonable . We waited at the stand to be seated , 3 members of staff actually walked past us one of them a young lad 3 times ! and no one actually took any notice , we were about to turn and walk out when a manager came along and got someone to seat us . we ordered a 2 carvery's , went up chose our meats got our veg , of which there was a good choice , but we would say TAKE CARE when using the spoons provided for the veg as the handles on the back row ones were absolutely burning , we could not even hold them and had to use the front ones from other veg ! quite dangerous. we also found the Yorkshire puddings were very hard at the bottom and sides , and couldn't even cut them with a knife ! puddings a little on the pricey side for what they are so gave them a miss . would probably give this pub a 6 or7/10 .

Thank you for sharing your experience with us on TripAdvisor.

I would like to apologise for the lack of acknowledgement when waiting to be seated in our restaurant, we expect all staff to acknowledge all customers when waiting to dine with us and all staff have been reminded about the importance of this simple gesture.

The Carvery Spoons have been reviewed many times and the ways we can stop them becoming so hot to touch and we have the staff checking these to make sure they are not left under the lights when the lids are on with no customers to serve.

The deserts are a must for when you return and please do not be put off by the price as you will not be left dissapointed.

Kind Regards

We visited this location on Wednesday 28th August (bank holiday week) at lunchtime and it was very busy. The garden overlooking the river was extremely popular as you would expect & we were lucky to get a comfortable table in the shade (a hot sunny day). The food was served within 15 minutes & the waitress was very efficient and asked if we wanted any extra sauces etc. Considering how busy they were we were surprised how quick & good the food was and we decided to eat there again in the evening (we were staying in another hotel about 50 yards away).
We ate in the restaurant in the evening and all 4 of us had the carvery. There was a choice of 4 meats & loads of veg roast potatoes etc and everyone was very satisfied & could not manage a sweet. I can recommend this hotel for its restaurant & bar food & the staff were very good under pressure.

This pub has an enviable location by the waterside in Wroxham so not inexpensive. It is part of a pub chain. We visited with 6 adults and 2 small children. Because the food is ordered by a computer-controlled chain system, it was not possible to adjust the child's menu to suit individual taste.
Service slow but food above tourist pub average- an actually pretty good hamburger & nice chips!

Thank You for taking the time to share your experience on Trip Advisor.

We have to agree the burger is one to try, maybe next time you could tackle the Ultimate Burger?

Since you have last visited us we now have a new Kids Menu with plenty of choice and scope to amend a few items if we stock them. The Kids Tapas is very popular for the little ones.

We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

So.....picture the scene. There we the 6 off us 2 old gits just over 50, 3 youngers and a newborn baby outside by the river and we have all ordered our food at the same time. Well my partner and I ( who's celebrating her birthday ) got our meals 20 minutes or so after ordering and then waited nearly half an hour for the other meals to turn up, and after going in to complain about the wait was told "it will be there in a minute". Bloody cheek.

A lovely venue with a fantastic setting overlooking the broads and what do ya get apart from a very poor service......Well, nothing actually.

Guys, I need to say that hopefully someone will see that something is very badly wrong in the kitchen department and we really like to eat in this place.

Sunday evening in Hoveton, went to the Kings Head for dinner. Sat in the garden. Service was very friendly, especially with the children. Drinks served quickly, good value food, decent quality.

Would recommend,.

Very good, tasty food on both occasions we went in for our evening meal. Service was good - our waitress (Victoria) let us know when the non-carvery dishes would be out so we could get the carvery at the same time which enabled us to all eat together. Can't believe the bill total was so low for the amount of good quality food we ate!
