Staying at Hoveton Hall is like visiting a National Trust or Heritage house and wishing like mad one could stay there for the night!
Well here is the very possibility to step over the threshold and stay in the beautifully redecorated and appointed bedrooms; like special guests of the family.
The Buxtons with 4 young children, make the task of providing perfect comfort and luxury look easy.
Greeting us warmly on arrival and showing us around, with Harry Buxton making sure we had everything we needed before retiring for the night. Then up to serve us the most delicious breakfast; again spoilt for choice we indulged!
The rooms are huge and elegant in quintessential English style. Copius gorgeous toiletries, warm fluffy towels and bathrobes in the bathrooms, are a 5* standard to be found in the very best hotels, a generous choice of teas and (proper!) coffee with biscuits in the room, bottles of water by the bed all making our stay the most relaxed and pampered we could have wished for.
Rachel Buxton was extremely helpful regarding making the initial booking for both rooms as well as helping with various requests including contact details of a local taxi firm for the evening to take us to and from 'The Swan' at Ingham for supper.
Extremely good value and we look forward to returning to catch the Rhododendruns and Azaleas in full glory next year if not before!

Just back from a perfect stay at the brand new Hoveton Hall Estate just a few miles north of Wroxham. We were looking for a local luxury escape to celebrate a birthday and we had read all the local press coverage about how this large traditional Norfolk Estate was diversifying and for the first time it would be offering luxury Bed & Breakfast accommodation in Hoveton Hall itself. It was an obvious choice and better still, we couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were - just £120 per room per night including breakfast. On arrival we were greeted by owner Rachel Buxton and welcomed into the magnificent hall. Harry Buxton told us that the Regency Hall dates back to the early 1800s and even offered us a mini tour of some of the 50+ rooms. Wow! We loved hearing about some of the history of the Hall. We can't believe that this is a lived in family home. Downton Abbey eat your heart out!

The Buxtons showed us to our room - The South-West Room - we were blown away. The room was very large and airy with stunning soft furnishings and views out over the Estate grounds. We quickly settled in and soon we were totally relaxed. Despite this being a lived in home by the Buxtons, there are 2 brand new B&B rooms available plus there is a guest lounge and breakfast room called The Library. We loved sitting in front of the fire, it was an amazing room filled with books and ornate features - some of the books on the shelves dated back to the 1800s. We felt like Lord and Lady of the Manor! The best way to describe our experience would be down to earth luxury. The room had everything we would want from glossy magazines for us to read to lovely contemporary toiletries, fluffy robes and the bath was amazing - so big and deep. We made use of the tea and coffee making facilities in the room and all the extra little touches that made it so special. The bed was incredible - probably the best linens and puffiest duvet that we have ever experienced. We woke up this morning to stunning views and made our way down to breakfast. We ate way too much. Rachel greeted us again and presented us with the menu and after lots of toast with butter and local jam we had a delicious full English which was amazing. Harry told us that much of the produce was locally sourced including the meat from the local butchers and their own freshly laid eggs. Stuffed from breakfast we then headed out for a sunny walk around the gardens and grounds. The daffs were almost out and there were lots of snowdrops. There is lots to see on the Estate including the Glasshouse, The Kitchen Garden as well as The Ice-Well. There are also tennis courts, lovely lawned areas and some nice circular walks. Best still we had it all to ourselves. We're now back home and already planning a return visit. Loved loved loved Hoveton Hall Estate and for £120 per night it is amazing value.
