“What a great find on Lake Ouachita!!!!”
Reviewed 24 August 2011

Found the place online and booked on a whim...wasn't sure what to expext (first time to AR) but was pleasantly surprised! Our cabin was larger than expected and super clean! Big comfy bed and a kitchen which was fully stocked! Loved our private deck with a bbq grill and fire pit close at hand. The staff at the restaurant and front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. They even let me use their phone...I had no cell service. My boyfriend and I plan to return...booking our next trip as soon as Im done with this review! Thanks Brady Mtn...you all have a great little place tucked away in the mtns....We'll be back with many of our friends!

Room Tip: We stayed in a cabin...reccomend it!

Resort definitely needs to be removed from the name. Rustic fishing cabins or bunk house would be more like it. False Advertising!!! The rooms do not even come close to the on line pictures. The staff was friendly and pleasant. The room was cleaned and clean towels etc were replaced as would be expected. The trash can was running over in the floor and was not taken care of. The door to the room was warped and was very difficult to open and close. The plumbing was difficult to shut off in the restroom. No place to sit your toiletries in the rest room. Rooms at the lodge are more like a cheap motel room with some flee market furniture. No ice machine available at night, no refrigerator in the room, no cell service and no room phone. The first night we had two TV channels, more channels were available on the second night. The was Wi-Fi available. The Ac in the Bar area of the restaurant did not work well. The service was somewhat slow on the first night for them not to be busy. The food was ok. The Pool was cleaner than expected from how run down everything else was, some curse words were spray painted on the fence at the pool.

With a family with 4 kids we have traveled all over the US and seen every type of Hotel, Cabin and Rental you can imagine. The service we received on this trip was awesome! Seriously, the workers at this Resort were SO SO nice and kind to us! They went above and beyond in every aspect! They were so good to us, from the people at the Lodge, Riding Stables, Marina and more. We have never been on a vacation where we have been treated so so well! What is hilarious, is that this is right in our backyard! Least to say, we will be back to Brady Mountain Resort & Lodge many many times in the future! We are going to have all of our vacations here! Thank you Brady Mountain Resort for making our vacation the absolute best! Sincerely, Joe Snell & Family

Room Tip: We loved the cabin, gave us plenty of space!

When my family and I pulled up to the mobile home described as having a 'deck with a grill overlooking the lake' , I was horrified. I assumed the home would be secluded, but was crowded and part of a trailer park. There was barely enough room for us to park our small SUV. I can't imagine how 2 cars would be able to park in the small space( and there were accommodations for 8). The wooden staircase leading to the front door was very old and dangerously steep, esp. for young children. The back staircase had a huge dropoff so we barely went back there. (Also, b/c the table and chairs were filthy and the grill was very crude and not on; the deck.) Upon arriving we immediately noticed that there was no phone and our cell phones could not get a signal. So we were completely cut off. Also, the beautiful lake scenery was not to be seen..... I thought we would be on the banks of a lake, but instead, we were on the hill overlooking a congested harbor with a couple of pontoon boats and a very unsightly crane. We never even went down to the lake. No sooner had we unpacked our suitcases than we almost had our 15 month old slip out of the front door (which was locked) and almost fall down the stairs. It turned out that the front door would lock from the outside, but remained open on the inside... it would not lock from the inside! When we asked about this at the front desk, we were told that that was just the way mobile homes were made..we suggested they install a deadbolt.... After we unpacked, I started to fill up the tub for my baby's bath, then realized there was no stopper. And the faucet knobs on the tub were full of mold.
On the plus side, the bedrooms were very nice with comfortable mattresses and clean sheets with plenty of pillows, the living room was nice and spacious with very comfortable furniture, the tv, once looked at by maintenance man, worked quite well, and there was a brand new microwave oven int the kitchen, although there was no dishwasher. Next time, we will just stay in a hotel in Hot Springs and drive to Lake Ouachita. Like another reviewer stated, do not be fooled by the term 'resort'. This place, if anything was comparable to a motel, but cruder. If you stay at this place, please do not stay at the mobile home park, try one of the cabins... much more secluded and better scenery, but still, not on the lake.

Stayed in the "Brady House", 5 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths. comfortable for our family ages 8 months to 59 years. Every thing we needed was provided (except food). Lake was exceptional. Boats, horses, snorkeling equipment available for rent.

We have been to Brady Mt twice now and have seen a lot of improvement over the last time in July 2008. Most of the cabins and rooms have been redone. The duplex we stayed in was not and really needed it. It was freshly painted and the king size bed was very comfy. The old, old air conditioner needs replacing since very loud in our bedroom. Pull out couch very thin and dirty so take a blow up bed to go on top and a sheet to cover the couch when setting. It did have a kitchen but no stove. Other cabins we visited were so much better. We ate at diner one time but was awful so made our own meal. Thirty of our family were there and all felt the same about the food. Most of our family have been going there for 30 years, every year for a weeks stay. Hope things will improve so we can continue to go with our grandchildren. It is rustic so don't expect a resort. We are on the lake in our boats most of the time. Jody, the manager was very helpful.

Don't stay here if your care about your family. This is a slum trailer that is falling apart and is very unhealthy. There was a horrible sewage smell on the deck behind the trailer. The smell was unbearable, the deck was unsafe with nails sticking up and wood that was splintering. In my room I tried to open the closet and it almost fell off, there were nails sticking out of the other door that could have snagged small children. The worst was all the bites from bed bugs from sleeping in my bed. I had about 20 bites per leg. This trailer was probably built in the 1970's and has had little or no up keep. We paid $200.00 a night. We will never stay here again and would recommend you don't if you care about yourself or your family.
