My son and his wife tried this restaurant a few weeks ago, and chose it for my 60th birthday celebrations with all the family on Saturday night. We came to stay in Hebden for the weekend from Hampshire and could not believe this hidden gem of a restaurant. The food, service and ambience is excellent. We had an amazing evening - thank you.

We visited Aux Delices a couple of weeks ago on a miserable Saturday evening. Upon entering the restaurant our spirits soared, we were warmly welcomed and shown straight to our table.
The menu was varied with numerous tempting dishes which made choosing difficult! I chose the deep fried brie followed by medallions of beef. My wife went for crab cakes and a main of halibut.
All the dishes were well presented and delicious. We then had pudding which we don't usually do.
The service throughout was well paced and attentive.
The atmosphere was warm and unpretentious...... this all made for a wonderful evening. We will definitely be back.

We try various restaurants around the Halifax area, but Aux Delices is the one we keep coming back to. It is at least a match for Gimbals in Sowerby Bridge (another restaurant with very good food in the Calder Valley) in terms of the food, but with more welcoming atmosphere and less sombre decor.

The welcome at Aux Delices is always friendly and the food is always excellent. And so it was again last night. The moules marineres were really plump and juicy - so many places overcook them to small rubbery pieces, but not here. The beef medallions were excellent, as was the ham hock. (Be sure you are hungry, or you will not finish this!)

I have previously commented on somewhat limited wines-by-the-glass, and they have listened! There are now 6 reds and 6 whites available by the glass with a really good selection of each from both old and new world. The Cote du Rhone is absolutely excellent and well priced for this quality. Some interesting wines by the bottle too.

Another excellent meal - really good fresh food at affordable prices. Keep it up!

Visited last night, great welcome from front of house and chef even came out too to welcome us. Had the calamari for starters and then gorgeous fillet steak with prawns, cooked to my liking (blue). Too full for a dessert. Had had a lovely bottle of Shiraz with my meal. Will definitely be back, a little treasure in Mytholmroyd

Great place. The wine list isn't huge (and nor is the restaurant) but it's good and sensibly priced without the massive mark-ups that some places charge. The food is exceptional. The chef sometimes comes out to introduce himself to each of the tables at the end of the evening, which is always a good sign of a chef who's proud of his craft, and when we went the other weekend, he was happy to answer questions about the recipes. It's a regular of ours and I'd recommend it to anyone.
