I was very disappointed in the quality of the building - especially when the website states it was renovated just 2 years ago. This is the only reason we stayed at a Super 8. But we will never stay here again.
Walking in, the lobby and hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. Somebody had just spilled a fruit juice in the lobby when we arrived and the stains remained until the last day we were there (Wednesday afternoon until Saturday morning).
The elevator was disgusting. Tiles were missing from the floor and it had very obviously not been mopped in days. The hallway had very obvious stains and needed vacuuming the whole time we were there.
The room smelled clean, but the bathtub had black stains all in it and what appeared to be mold. I refused to bath my child in that tub. We took all of our things and bathed her at her grandparents home. There was no ironing board - I had to go next door to my sister's room to borrow one.
The safe had the lock busted off of it; the refrigerator was missing a foot, so it was leaning terribly; and the fire detector was sitting on our dresser with the wires just hanging from the ceiling.
There were some stains on the comforter and bed skirt. Also, if you want to keep your skin, don't use their towels. Those were the roughest and smallest towels I've ever experienced in a hotel. Even my tough, never complaining brother-in-law commented on the quality of the towels.
My personal issue was that when the coffee bags were replaced in my room, I only ever got decaf and no regular packages. I also never got refills on the creamer/sugar/stir-stick packages.
The location seemed good initially - until we discovered that if you are coming from State Line and not the freeway, you have to circle around and drive through an apartment complex to get to the Super 8 entrance. Very bizarre and very inconvenient.
The breakfast was 2 choices of cereal, waffles, watery juice, cinnamon rolls in a plastic bag, and dry muffins. Very thankful there was an IHOP nearby and that we had plans to eat at the grandparents' house. Definitely not a quality breakfast.
With Super 8, you get what you pay for. In the future, we will definitely pay more to have a clean building and a decent breakfast option.
The lobby decor is dated. However the room is clean. New flat screen TV. Bed comfortable. Right off the freeway. Breakfast was cereal and milk plus waffles --no muffins :( It is a nice place to stay with IHOP and Denny's next door. If passing by again will
stay here. Overall good experience.
