We'd visited in the summer and enjoyed the setting immensely. In winter the parking is far better but the atmosphere is missing. Not a problem though, as the food and service was good. The kiddies portions are really small and so, for our son, aged ten, we ordered and paid for a double portion. The chicken pasta is huge. The sirloin steak roll is really good but a small amount of food, which is indicated on the menu.

This is our second visit at the restaurant, that time it was great, there fore we decided to come back. This time though...wish we hadn't. Sat down and had to wait 20 minutes to even get a menu, and the place wasn't even that busy. Order drinks and food, drinks we have to remind them about and they only comes in AFTER the meal is on the table, the meal taking 20 minutes. Uncooked and tasteless prawns. E tra sauce for the prawns didn't even get to the table even though we asked twice for it. Let's say the location is great but the food Nd service were terrible! Ignorance from both kitchen and service staff. Will NOT come back here again.

A waterfront setting overlooking Seal Island, in the quaint and peaceful city of Simon's Town. The Bay Seafood Platter for 1 is a popular choice on the menu - the calamari and prawns are simply out of this world. Malva Pudding is a South African dish, order it with ice cream, and be prepared to swoon. Forget counting calories - count on eating at Bertha's instead. You can't beat the incredible marina views and eating outside in the warm sunshine, is an event you won't want to pass by. Simon's Town is the home of the South African Navy....there is a train which runs between here and Cape Town every day, and follows the coastline for most of the hour long journey. Once in Simon's Town rail station, hail a taxi and head for Bertha's....you won't be disappointed.

The location is great... right on the water...perfect for an afternoon beer or lunch.... the place is clean... the staff is friendly.... The local 'dessert' pudding is fantastic...
I had a local seafood dish.. which I enjoyed... nothing special or fancy... but tasty and filling.

This is a nice little restaurant by the pier. Good views, ok food and decent value. I had the seafood curry, which was ok, but not like the curry I'm used to in Asia, US, or UK. I'd stick with the grilled or fried seafood, or even the burger, which was quite good.
