Beautiful location with outstanding view over False Bay. Unit is well equipped and very comfortable and we especially appreciated the small touches. Only drawback is the lack of a washing machine and dryer.

Tastefully furnished, spacious accommodation in a beautiful setting. Enjoyed the exta touches - fresh roses and lavender sprigs! The first selfcatereing we have stayed at that supplies tee, coffee etc usually only at B&B! Great to have a library in the room with so much info. Really enjoyed ou stay and will definitally return.

It's a long, steep trip up to Avian Leisure. But it's worth the drive- the property affords one of the best views of Simon's Town. And, the actual room itself is very impressive. It's spacious and ranks up there with any five star property, though for a much more reasonable price. The hosts are keen to please and full of great, local info. This property comes highly recommended.

An extremely well equipped apartment in a great location, Watching Whales from the deck by day and Porcupines by night was a highlight of our stay. Thoroughly recommended as a base from which to explore the Cape Peninsula..

I have never stayed in a self catering apartment of such high standard nor one with such a glorious view!
The fynbos garden and its wildlife were also outstanding.
Location was also good for a number of excellent restaurants in Simonstown.

We recently stay some nights in both, Shearwater and Watsonia apartments. The place is simply magnificient and Mary-Louise & Patrick very kind and knowledgeable persons. We're ornithologists and our stay at Avian Leisure and self-guided tour in Western Cape were very successful, thanks to the efforts of the property. Thank you Mary-Louise for your arrangements and thank you Patrick for your guided Cape tour and self-guided tour designs. We strongly recommended this place for naturalists and birdwatchers.

Perfect for birders. Perfect for those who prefer native flowers and plants. Perfect for luxury-lovers. Perfect for those who love a sea-view (often with Southern right whales). Perfect for those who want to visit a penguin colony almost underfoot. Perfect for making a day trip to explore the Cape of Good Hope and then come back for a gourmet meal, seafood or otherwise. What else can we say? Perfect!
