Description: Chef Bruce left us a great legacy in both his food and his unique venture, The Flagship. This beautiful home that he created, on the shores of False Bay, will continue to offer a superb chef's table with Duncan Doherty as a testament to all that he stood for. Introducing Duncan Doherty. Duncan hails from the gourmet capital of Franschoek. An acclaimed chef, he has a diverse portfolio that includes Haute Cabriere, Fancourt, The Lanzerac Hotel and the Graham Beck Wine Estate. Most recently his celebrated 6 course tasting menu paired with champagne, has been described as an explosion of tastes. This is a man who loves seafood, champions sustainable produce and guarantees culinary entertainment in his own inimitable style. Five course Chef's Table Seafood Lunch with wine pairings - a piece of culinary theatre! Your experience starts with a glass of bubbles to accompany the first of your 5 courses with wine tasters, finishing some 3 hours later with a sublime dessert. This is a 'Bucket list' occasion for people who love seafood, wine and engaging with others. From the moment you arrive there is an air of excitement and experimentation and the feeling that you've landed somewhere special!

I was lucky enough to go to the inaugural ladies night dinner here back in Feb 2012 with my neice and some of the locals from Scarborough. It was top class, attention to detail, fab food, host/chef, location, rooms, views, decor - everything just perfect and unique being in Bruce's private home. And the mention of Sushi the boxer that someone else mentioned in their review used to be my neice's dog and she is so loving and gentle and would fit in so well there with all the attention!

We had the most marvelous lunch at Chef Bruce's home, The Boat House, in Scarborough. Approximately an hour's drive from the center of Cape Town, Scarborough is a nature preserve beachfront community that is simply one of the most scenic and beautiful places we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. From beginning to end, lunch -- the atmosphere, the people, the conversation and, of course, THE FOOD -- was just spectacular. If you are someone who loves delicious cuisine (especially seafood) that is lovingly and creatively prepared in a fun and unpretentious setting, you will leave thinking this was one of the best meals and one of the best days of your life!

A most wonderful evening spent with Bruce, Holyman and Sushi the dog plus the other guests. The whole experience was just amazing; the location, wine, titilating descriptions of the food, and the food itself was just above and beyond all expectations.

Good luck with the move to Simonstown - we'll definitely be back for another helping.....!

My wife and I are true foodies and have traveled the world looking for amazing food. The stay at the boat house was one of our favorite and most amazing trips ever. Relaxing. Great food. Great wine. Great service. Chef Bruce is so wonderful and makes your stay so relaxing it is amazing. He is so very creative that the food is almost magical. We always thought that our best meal ever was at the French Laundry in Napa and it was truly astounding, but Chef Bruce comes in a close second to the best restaurant in the world. If you can, any way you can, go there. He is a magician when it comes to food. Thank you Chef Bruce for some of our best meals EVER.
