Owner description: The sheltered inlet of Boulders Beach is located in the Cape peninsula near Simon's Town. Here exists a protected colony of African penguins which can be viewed in their natural habitat via wooden walkways. There is also an excellent beach for swimming nearby.

As the title suggests, it's a place to see penguins roaming about at their own private beach. Arrived around 5pm and was lucky to see them still around. Some were getting ready to sleep. Expect them to make sharp noises as that's how they communicate.

Wonderful experience , unique in the world. You can see it briefly in an hour, by visiting the penguin colony, but to really experience everything spend the day afterwards on Boulders beach swimming and enjoying the penguins. It is not worth rushing. Your entrance fee lasts the day.then eat at penguin corner.

This is a very small site with a boardwalk over the beach where the penguins live.
You are guaranteed plenty of penguins waddling around on the beach and its surrounding.
Well worth the stop.

This is a well thought out park, but you can avoid paying if all you want to see is penguins. They lounge all around and turn out to be pretty stinky little guys. On a clear day the water is crystalline and you can enjoy the swimming and waddling antics to your heart's desire. Slightly annoying are the loud tourists that don't respect the space of the penguins, but all in all a nice stop and good book mark for your journey around the Cape.

We went here following a visit to Sancob the penguin rehab centre in Cape Town. We saw penguins from the main walkway but we also climbed between the rocks on the beach and got some beautiful photos of just a couple of penguins on their own going across the beach and into the sea. My 9 year old son loved every minute !
