My family and I recently spent an enchanting weekend at Stone Hill in the Magaliesburg; made even more special by the fact that our two labradors and standard poodle were also made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The comfortable cottage had a fenced off garden and the cottage had been appointed with a great deal of care and passion. There are lovely walks to be enjoyed with your pets and the time spent at the river with our dogs was a complete joy and will remain a very happy memory for the rest of my life. This quiet and relaxing weekend was a very refreshing time-out from all our busy schedules and gave the family time to catch-up with each other and even play board games!

Lovely stay in peaceful setting. Loved being able to take our pooch and have a good walk amongst nature. Whilst digs are welcome and this was a major drawcard for us, there was no trace that dogs had been in the cottage. An hour from joburg so no lengthy car trip. Caroline and Mark were most friendly and welcoming. We also loved our morning visitors - 3 gentle Shetland ponies looking for carrot / apple donations :)

We loved the fact that our 2 daschunds were made to feel welcome as welcome as we were. The cottage was clean and comfortable, and we had a great view from the veranda. We all enjoyed the walks and the dogs loved splashing in the river to cool off afterwards. Caroline and Mark were very friendly hosts. If you want a relaxing holiday, this is the place.

The 2 one bedroom cottages are perfect for two famililes that want to spend a lot of time together but also have some quiet time apart. The dogs loved it, and the fact that they were safely fenced in was peace of mind for us!

Our second stay, and this time we were in the quaint little Cabbage Tree. The ponies came to visit again, the sunsets were gorgeous, our walks refreshing, and Caroline & Mark were wonderful as always. Definitely the place to come for a few nights' away whenever we can!

We had an amazing break away here with our dogs. Although there are quite a few chalets, you never see the other people. The 5km walk is truly awesome as well as the walk by the river. There is also an amazing pool to cool down. We could also pre order curries and bread which made cooking a lot less stressful.

I can only say this: If you desire a quet, "out of the city" no noise break, Stone Hill is the place for you. It's a safe and VERY petfriendly enviroment where you can relax without stress. Harmen and myself did not want to leave. Cloeë, Rodger and little Max ran like mad hounds through the grass and fields. We will certainly be going back for several more visits. Thanks to Caroline and Mark for their hospitality and very friendly reception.
Greetings Harmen, Ursula and the Yorkies.
