The Feathered Nest is situated conveniently for travellers from Gauteng. Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised at the lovely accommodation with the very quaint touches in each room, especially the outdoor shower. The food is superb! The hosts are wonderfully chatty, with lots of stories to share. The 'honour bar' is a stunning concept - the surroundings pleasant and comfortable. For that weekend away to re-charge your battery, this venue is ideal. For those who are fortunate enough to stay longer, you will leave completely rejuvenated, we certainly did after our short sojourn there. The quad bike ride was thrilling! Awesome to be in the company of owls, turkeys, gorgous dogs, etc. A trip worth taking for sure!

Room Tip: All the rooms are divinely decorated - very private and simply splendid.

This has to be one of the nicest places we ever stayed. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and immediately felt relaxed. The Sunbird cottage we stayed in was really spacious with lots of special touches. The setting was very peacefull and we were never disturb by staff and yet when we got back to our room it was as if the fairies had been in to clean. The meals that we had were very tasty and we looked forward to the next surprise meal. We were fortunate to see kudu, duiker and warthog on our walk down to the river. The views and scenery are awesome.
In general we really enjoyed the hospitality, food and tranquility. We will definately be back soon!!

Room Tip: We looked at all the other cottages on our departure and they all really very nice, each cottage is...

The experience was beautiful.

The cottage was stunning (outside shower - amazing!). Martin and Marion are fantastic hosts and chefs - the dogs are just as friendly. The dishes served were not only well presented but very modern and cooked to perfection - delicious (There was no need to clear the plates for the dishwasher when we were done)

The Feathered Nest offers you class, privacy and great outdoor experience. We will be back!

Thanks Martin and Marion

We really enjoyed out time at The Feathered Nest, the beds are so comfy! It is quite a long way away from everywhere else so expect at least 45 minute drives where ever you go. Very nice owners, they are very welcoming-Marrion is an excellent cook too!

My wife and I stayed there during last years World Cup and were very happy with everything. We did not know what to expect and when we arrived the owners were extremely welcoming and our magical stay began. Between the food, accommodations, the amazing outdoor bar, our hosts, and of the course Bar Dog, Nalla, and Tyson we enjoyed every minute. The place is huge and Martin took us out on the quads. The scenery is beautiful and we loved how Nalla kept us company. Martin and Marion treated us like family and took very good care of us. The worst part was we had to leave. We should have stayed for 3 weeks instead of one. If you stay here you are not going to regret it and will have some of the best meals you have ever had in your life.
