Extremely good location for a get away. Very quiet area, so if you require peace and quiet this is the place to be. The staff are extremely friendly. The facilities are great and the Spa is unique. The food is great. There is nothing to not like at this resort.

Room tip: All rooms are quiet and very comfortable.

What a disappointment after a ten year gap; service bordered on abominable accompanied by largely disinterested staff with the exception of the check-in staff who were both attentive and interested.

Will not be going back in a hurry.

I stayed in a superior room which was ok, but pretty basic. Not comparable at all to other 5 star accommodation. However, the real disappointment was the buffet restaurant. The restaurant itself would be more appropriate to a dining hall in a boarding school. The food is extremely basic (definitely NOT even 3 star) and certainly not worth the very high cost. The staff are friendly but remarkably absent. I will most certainly not recommend this hotel and will definitely not be returning.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Mount Grace hotel for two nights. There is a lot to love about the hotel - but the overall poor service put a damper on our experience.

This started at the check-in where the receptionist advised that they needed a credit card for pre-authorization. Typically this is usually a credit card check - we certainly weren’t advised that an amount of R1000 per each day would be debited from our account. The receptionist also addressed only my fiancé throughout the check in - and tried to hand my credit card back to him . When we asked her where our room was she replied that she had no idea!

The service on the terrace was exceptionally slow - with no one in sight to order drinks from. When we ordered lunch on the second day they got the order wrong - and it took over an hour for our food to be ready. The seating in the buffet dining room was not well explained to all guests - this resulted in our being shown to a table on our last morning and being told by another guest that we had taken their table as they had been sat there the previous evening and they assumed that they would be allocated to the same table throughout their stay which was embarrassing for both them and us!

The aircon in the gym was unfortunately not working - and was not attended to despite me asking for this to be fixed - which made the gym virtually unusable.

We brought these concerns to the attention of management - but nothing was done to correct this during our stay.

On the bright side - the food was excellent (if overpriced). The spa treatments that we had were truly a spoil. The grounds were well maintained and a lovely setting.

Just a pity about the poor service!

We took our daughter for a surprise weekend and the hotel prepared cup cakes for her and there was a lovely welcome upon our arrival.
The hotel is beautifully maintained and the service was impeccable from reception through to room service and house keeping. The room was a king room with a private pool which is lovely to cool off in on a hot day. We were well looked after and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

If I have to be critical then the staff in the general dining area were disinterested even to the extent that they delivered an ordered omelette wrong twice! A little enthusiasm from that team would have resulted in an overall 10/10
