I stayed at the Buhoma Lodge for two nights while Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and it was fantastic! The setting is breath-taking as the lodge is one of the few places you can stay in the park. The staff is awesome, the food was great, I loved my room...I could go on and on. Staying here made gorilla tracking in Bwindi so much easier as they are able to provide guests with what is needed for the optimal gorilla experience, whether that is stuff for tracking like a packed lunch and gators or warm soup, hot chocolate, and portable heat once you come back during rainy season...I am so grateful that I stayed here! There is a great common area for meals and couches where you can relax and meet other guests. They have an area to charge devices, and the common area has wi fi (most of the time.) The rooms have a treehouse feel, which I loved. The plumbing was great, and I had wonderful, warm showers, which I appreciated as it was chilly during rainy season as the rooms have screens but no glass in the windows. However, they have these super duper hot water bottles that they stick in your bed so you can be warm and snuggly when you sleep. They also accept credit cards, which makes traveling a bit easier. FYI there is a fee for charges less than $50, which...I stayed at the Buhoma Lodge for two nights while Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and it was fantastic! FYI there is a fee for charges less than $50, which I easily got around after a visit to the gift shop. Also, there are 70 or steps to many of the rooms, so that might make this a suboptimal place for some folks. However, they do your laundry and massage you after your gorilla track so it all works out in the end. The only thing that would make this place better is if they would allow guests to put staff tips on the credit card (vs cash in the tip box.) I asked about this and right now they can't do it...I hope they can figure out a way as I would have tipped more than I did in the cash only situation only because it is challenging to get cash near Bwindi.More
