“Basic but comfortable”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

Slept better here than anywhere in Uganda due to comfortable beds, warmed by hot water bottles - a nice touch typical of the staff who went out of their way to be helpful. The camp is quite basic and paths to the tents are quite steep and dark, but it's all held together by very attentive staff. Avoid the craft shops in the road below the camp - nasty tat, pushy sales staff and silly prices.

I stayed at this fancy lodge with a friend for 2 nights, and we really had a great time.this lodge is located a few meters from the park and opposite is the stunning view of the forest. It is in a remote area with no hydro electric power but with a solar power, so we did not have problems with the lights and the charging. this hotel is a tented Camp with really a great value compared to the rest of the hotels i stayed in.The manager and the rest of the staff are so friendly, supportive and welcoming, they always make you feel you are at home while at this wonderful property, it gets too cold at night than in the day but you are provided with a hot water bottle..my first time to use a hot water bag, it is a nice touch!! I highly recommend this Lodge.

Room Tip: get rooms top of the dinning

Ok not the best place for business but that's not their fault.
No wifi, power is literally a broken 4 way at reception which can run out as its solar powered. Camp has lights but very dim due to solar power and sometimes runs out by morning as you will experience by flickering lights.
Beds surprisingly comfy, it gets cold at night and the hot water bottle is a nice touch. Tents get a clean everyday.
Bathroom open air, nice if you don't mind bugs, and a dash to try shower in daylight as the lights too dim at night. They have baths but as the water was always a little brown I didn't fancy it.
Possibly great place if your up and about early and like most people only here for a couple of nights.
Food was a mixture of Ugandan and western. Bland but at least inoffensive. They provided some veggie dishes but mostly mix vegetable rice and potatoes. Even do takeaway lunch.
They Have some bar drinks and mostly beer. Not too expensive as some of the 5 star lodges around. You can always visit another lodge for a drink and wifi.
Staff were amazing. Very helpful , sweet, and polite. Nothing was a problem and they were happy to do mostly anything.

Room Tip: Don't get the tent next to the dining area, up top is quieter, behind dining area has nicer view...

Cool beers on arrival after an 11 hour drive from Kampala were very welcome. The staff is extraordinarily helpful, the rooms (military style tents) are basic but do the trick: comfortable beds, with hot water bottles (it gets cold in the jungle). Being in the jungle makes you exposed to bugs which is the only downside with the outdoors bathroom...

Meals were consistently well prepared which was a treat given you're in the middle of nowhere.

I recently stayed whilst visiting the gorillas and was really impressed with the layout and the staff. Moses, the head waiter was polite, professional and all the other guys were really courteous. I would recommend this if you want something unique with a jungle setting, but a hint of luxury. the beds are comfy and there's hot water. Thanks again guys!

Room Tip: head up the hill to be away from the night fires and the inevitable late night drinking sessions. Yo...

Great location very close to the forest, amazing view, staff were welcoming and we got to know all of them. Moses the manager was always there at the right time great person always helping out, the service was fantastic, the food was top notch let alone that it was in the middle of a forest. By tented camp i thought we would be camping out but there are clean rooms that are spacious enough covered by a big tent. Don't expect a hotel-like experience but a lodge that provides a great stay for a forest experience and gorilla trekking

Room Tip: rooms higher up are quieter but a further walk

A nice place, different than the other lodges. Not as warm as other places, but a nice 20-25 degrees centigrade.
Nice to have this experience once to sleep in a tent.
The only thing is, most of the things get moist because of the height.
Anyway, the food is good, very friendly and helpful staff and an amazing view at the mountains of Bwindi!
The bed was pretty hard and short.. A nice touch was the fact that the staff brought a hot water bottle in the evening to keep your feet warm.
