This place is actually in Anegundi which is across the river from Vitalla Temple in Hampi.
The place is really nice with great service and food which is very much like home cooked food.
It is a little pricy for Hampi but frankly there are not too many other options other that the guest houses in Hampi or the back packers places across the river from Virupakshi Temple.
The path to the Uramma cottages passes through the village and would be nice for Uramma trust to teach the kids to use a toilet and not do it on the road !!!
Anegundi itself is quite interesting. Take a bike and explore the place. Nice peaceful villages with farming as the mainstay.

This is indeed a well kept secret spot across the river from Hampi in a tiny village of 400 families called Anegundi. The promoters of the cottages have different accommodation in the village which one can check out in http://www.urammaheritagehomes.com/. Although guests stay in different guest houses and cottages, they all need to converge at their main property for food.

We had stayed in peshegaar guest house which is a reconstructed village house. It has about six rooms with four shared bathrooms with attached Toilet. The guesthouse has got all the basic needs which are maintained very well. We visited Anegundi to visit a spiritual place called Navabrindavanam which is across the river on a little island but also visited Hampi by crossing the river from a different side by boat and enjoyed seeing all the important places.

The food served at Uramma / Shama is not that great but the hospitality of Basava and Siraja makes up more than all these. Siraja was following up since the morning of our arrival until we arrived and ensured that we were properly guided and taken care. Similarly, Basava was courteous to the extent possible and helped us visit some of the off-beat temples but also places of historical importance. Not to mention, Nagaraja was also good.

This is a good place to stay for a combo holiday that comprises spiritual, historical and archaeological, visit such places and relax in the evening.

You would love this place, if you prefer a rural setting with modern amenities.

Room Tip: In case you are a budget traveller, go stay in the peshegaar house.

stayed here for three days with family. real glad we decided to camp out in anegundi and in shama's cottage rather than in hampi. quaint and rural cottages set in a huge, green compound/garden. the place included an outdoor and open dining area, and an open air theatre. the room was decorated sparsely but with style. i liked sitting area in the back of the cottage room and the bathroom was big for indian standards.

good breakfast and dinner which was brought in from outside. simple but yummy food. staff is a little slow on the uptake but that might just be how they roll in hampi. however, they were very courteous and considerate. they also helped us burst crackers we got to celebrate diwali.

lovely place to relax and use as a base camp for your excursions into the surrounding areas. the boat ride to hampi is a short walk from the cottage and so is the "downtown" strip. the staff also helped us connect with a local guide to go rappelling.

highly recommend the place.

could be better: room service. they dont believe in cleaning the room everyday. maybe you have to ask or explicitly state that. i didnt.

Room Tip: get the big room closest to the admin area.

Definitely a good place for base camp at Hampi, even though this is in Anegundi, a short boat ride from Hampi. Anegundi is also worth exploring however.
The cottages are clean, spacious, and well laid out.
There's almost no cellular network coverage, and definitely a lot of insects, but this is rural India, no surprises there.
The meals are cooked elsewhere and brought in so don't expect hot meals but do expect simple, delicious food and an accommodating (though slow) staff in a pretty, covered common dining area.
We stayed in the cottages while there is also a more fancy multiple-sleeper area with a verandah and bathroom which would be good for larger groups or families.
Barring the open-ish bathrooms (which means the walls don't extend all the way up), everything was just lovely. Restful, peaceful, and simple.
Highly recommend it.
