“Architectural Marvellence”
Reviewed 2 September 2014

Being in Hampi takes you to another era and another lifetime. Of the many structures I saw in Hampi, I find Vittala temple to be the most glorifying of all. May be because we spend so much time there admiring the carving, pillars , the famous chariot and all. We reached there under the scorching sun , lied down there in the mandapa and took a nap. We woke up when the sun was beginning to set. It was so beautiful. There is a wall behind the temple and you can watch the sunset sitting there.

PS: Visit when the sun is setting

“Breathless”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

If one wants to witness the competition between man and Vishwakarma (the Architect God of Hindus), this is the place on earth. Any number of words would fail to do justice to this wonderful monument dedicated to Lord Vitthala or Lord Vishnu. Legend has it that Lord Vishnu found it too grand to live in and thus returned to his own humble home. The Stone Chariot is situated to the east of the temple hall. By far, this is the most amazing monument in Hampi and is portrayed as the icon for Hampi.

“Temple with musical pillars”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

There are so many places to see in Hampi Tourism which attracts the tourists due to their natural and architectural beauty & one such place is Vijaya Vittala Temple. This temple complex dedicated to Vittala, a form of the Hindu god Vishnu is an architectural highlight of Hampi. This temple campus contains many halls and shrines. The halls are noted for its extraordinary pillars with the animated carvings on it. A set of pillars, known as ‘musical pillars,’ resonates when tapped. A huge stone chariot complete with wheels carved out of stone stands in front of the main temple. A must visit place
