You will be tired when you get to Pushkar, unless you came from Ajmer its quite a journey and its really exciting to come to a place where so much is happening, bright colours are everywhere and the bazaar round the lake is full of beautiful and fascinating objects. You need to sit down.Chachahs garden is just the place, only three minutes walk from Varah Ghat on the lake and the bazaar, the rooms are around a garden with shade and music and refreshment. Its also family home so you may meet the owners Rani/Brigit from England and Chacha/Mukesh whose family have been many generations in Pushkar, and their children Siddhi and Finn and tortoise Shadow.Everything is lovely and the tariffe very reasonable. You will soon feel at home.

Pushkar was our most favorite destination in Rajasthan and Chacha's was a great place to stay. Brigit made us feel really welcome, when we arrived we sat in the relaxed courtyard and she shared some great local knowledge with us, including what happens at the lake with blessings and catching the sunrise from a the temple on the hill. Our room was simple but comfortable and nicely decorated, we loved the blue color!!
When our friends decided to join us a few days earlier than planned, Brigit managed to find room for them all, even letting out friend sleep on the roof for one night until a pom became available!

We had such a good experience with the family that we are planning on going back next March for Holi again and we can't to be back in Pushkar and see the family and how the children have grown!

I never intended to stay at Chacha's for 14 nights, but as a young woman travelling alone in India I really fell in love with Pushkar and Cha Cha's was such an easy, welcoming place to stay. I agree with other posts- easy food (porridge). I'm all for eating local cuisine but i'd come froma silent Vipassana meditation course where they'd served this cold chutney curry thing for breakfast (i was the only non-local) and my pathetic western stomach really needed some settling. RANI was an angel- a fountain of information and such a beautiful, interesting and compassionate soul. I got sick, i think from swimming in a pool at a hotel nearby, i was really violently ill (not just the garden pathetic western upset stomach that I had for my entire trip) and Rani was the best; bringing me water and electrolytes. Sitting out in the courtyard and just chatting to other travellers was bliss. I would wholeheartedly recommend this as a truly special place to stay in a magical city.

We really enjoied our stay at Chachas Garden! He and his wife and two kids treated us as part of their family. Our room was cosy and clean and nicely decorated. They helped us out wherever they could. When we arrived in Pushkar Chacha even picked us up (for free) from the busstation with his motor bike. The location was very good. In five minutes walk you found yourself on Pushkars main market place. You can ask them a lot of things about Hinduism and they will try to explain it to you (Chacha is Brahmin). The bathroom and toilett were not the cleanest and the shower was cold but hey that's part of travelling India. They had a nice roof top from which could watch the stars at night. Last but not least the price was (250 for two people) all you want for someone travelling on a shoestring.

this couple are a welcome relief for the weary traveler - I found this place in Oz and booked for two novice travelers who claim it was a highlight to their trip - the ONLY place in India where tampons could be sourced, I am sure every female would realise the delight in this find. The couple were ever helpful and whilst the scent of the city (like so many Indian cities) was overwhelmed by the ease found in the English/ Indian couple and their children. The beds were comfir, the fireside yarns in the evening a JOY and the very best chai tea to consume. A wonderful place to stop and regenerate. Recommend to all :-)

Room Tip: But no steps!! Make sure that you book a room with a private bathroom and arrange to shower when hot...

We had a wonderful stay with Chacha and Rane - Chacha's Garden is very relaxed, homely and a great base to explore Pushkar from. Chacha picked us up from the station in Ajmer which was very welcome. The rooms are simple but clean and good value, and centred around a beautiful courtyard, with sand on the ground and murals on the walls. The food was freshly cooked when ordered, with some lovely Rajasthani specials on offer. We found Chacha's Garden very hospitable and relaxing, and were made to feel very welcome in Chacha and Rane's home.

Chacha came to meet us at the station in Ajmer which was really nice. Chacha and his wife Rane run a very friendly and relaxed guesthouse in Pushkar. The rooms are simple, but comfortable and clean. The rooms are arranged around a central courtyard which is nicely painted with murals on the walls and planted up. There a couple of tortoises that also share the courtyard! There is good homecooked food on offer. During the camel fair extra rooms are made in tents which also looked good. The guesthouse is in a good location for exploring Pushkar, and Rane gave us a map with lots of useful information on arrival.
